I might add a couple more knives, just in case I'm put into a knife scenario.

BOB like most people have eluded to here is a temp fix from point A to hopefully another fixed point.

What makes infinitely more sense to me is a shelter that is provisioned for a minimum of year. This is very possible. I live in KY and I have a friend I used to snicker at for his long term project of building and storing for a doomsday shelter. After how people wigged with COVID, I don't snicker anymore.

His is tucked away in a remote area of Appalachia in the side of a mountain. It's nicer than any hunting cabin I've ever stayed in over the years.

Are you like 13 years old? Thats the bag I feel a 13yo would put together. No plan, just random survival type things with no coordination and link. Trash 90% if that and develop a plan first. Then build to the plan. Jesus this world is fricked. I see now how easy it's going to be to dispatch half of y'all and take your shite.

Exactly! My BOB has two items.

The rest of y'all are fricked.

Rambo style survival knife with the saw on the back, with paracord handle, compass cap, and inside the handle some firestarter stuff, fishing line, hooks, and some leftover hydrocodone from an old prescription.

Whatever daily CC you have at the moment of SHTF. Doesn't need to be in your bag necessarily. If it takes 50 rounds to shoot your way out of a situation with a pistol, you are probably dead anyway.

I do have a BOB but I call it just a hunting bag, but could double as a BOB (an already-packed bag ready to go) and it has quite a few other items in it. Rain jacket, rain pants, emergency blanket, a beanie, some gloves, some random ammo, a small folding saw, a small camp pot, a ziplock with instant grits already seasoned, I think some aspirin, more tinder and fatwood, TP. A random folding knife. A headlamp. Some extra batteries. Custom first aid kit. A couple other random hunting related items such as a blaze vest, printed regs, maybe a dove flicker or 4, etc. It's just a waterproof carhardtt backpack.

With that bag, a Rambo knife, and really any fully loaded CC, bugging out is covered.

None of that includes what I already carry in the vehicle for a "Get Home" situation. I was motivated to do this when I unexpectedly drove into white-out conditions in a very rare snowstorm in Georgia many years ago. I made it home but was very very scared I wouldn't. I'm covered now.

I have a plan, you count. I just don't feel the need to advertise it here. And trust me, you wouldn't be able to find me, much less take anything from me.

And to the guy who said to get rid of the 38sp, that's my truck gun. My CC is a 9mm. If it goes down and I'm in my truck, they are both coming with me. If shite goes down and I'm at home, I have a totally different plan.

Why are you so angry? You itemized your entire list and invited opinions. You are getting those opinions. The only one acting like a cvnt here is you.

Because I said "count"? I'm not angry. I use that word quite a bit, as well as "twat". Doesn't mean I'm angry...

Preparedness is a mindset. Can you source clean water, treat a wound, build a fire, reduce plants and animals to food?

Do you have enough physical fitness to travel miles by foot? Can you run?

Have you used any of these things in the woods?

Can you shim or pick a lock? Sharpen a knife? Tie the proper knot for the application?

Can you check a pulse, stop a bleed or treat dysentery?

One hammer to each side at the same time with medium force will open most master locks

Change out the Constitution with the Holy Bible.
A fold up map or two?

Honestly if it goes down we are mostly screwed. It feels good to prepare though.
