Russel Honoré calls on Louisiana industry to slow LNG exports, boost refinery capacity

Retired Lt. Gen. Russel Honoré, a prominent military veteran and outspoken environmental activist, on Tuesday called on the state’s oil and gas industry to invest in greater refinery capacity and slow down overseas shipments of liquefied natural gas to handle an energy crunch at home.
quote:
He accused oil and gas companies of prioritizing profits over consumers and called for long-term “solutions for pollution” to transition the state away from fossil fuels.
“Until that happens, we are at the mercy of Big Oil and Gas,” he said. “Right now, they’re focused on high profits, profits to shareholders. They’ve said that is their mission.”
Honoré, a 37-year military veteran who oversaw Hurricane Katrina security and relief efforts, leads the GreenARMY, a grassroots organization that aims to curb climate change and pollution. He held a news conference Tuesday near a Shell gas station on South Acadian Thruway, a stone’s throw from St. Joseph’s Academy. The event was organized by the Louisiana Bucket Brigade, another environmental advocacy organization.

So this hypocrite who has for over ten years rallied his GreenARMY and Bucket Brigade minions to protest pipelines and plants all over Louisiana, now is “calling” on Louisiana oil & gas industry to expand their refineries?
Of course his brain dead disciples will eat this all up, and I’m sure The Advocate will promote him and his idiocy every chance they get.

You want to see investors get out of the O&G business and see prices subsequently skyrocket? Do this.

Right? The mental fugue of these hypocrites is astounding.

This must be the new talking point.
In the last week, several of my liberal friends have posted on FB that the US needs to increase refining capacity.
These are the same people who are all in on the green effort.
Just today... one of them said Biden needs to use the Defense Production Act to increase more refining capacity.
These people are legit retarded. I know we aren't supposed to use that word anymore... but it is accurate.

Right because capacity increases are free and as easy as flipping a switch.

This is bad? That's supposed to be the mission of every corporation.

How are they wrong?

Again, how are they wrong? If he can use it for green energy, he can use it to increase refining capacity. In fact, why aren't people all over the old frick about this?

That’s what CNN and Mother Jones told me. It has to be true.

Why don't these left wing activists ever say the same shite about Apple or Amazon?

They are not.
It's the fact that a big reason we are here is because the left is constantly threating refineries and making it harder and harder for them to do business here.
They themselves are the reason we have a reduced refining capacity.

You can’t promise and campaign on bankrupting an entire industry and then act appalled they try to make as much money short term and defer investing in long term growth.
He could quit villainizing the entire industry, allow for new refineries to be permitted, and tell Europe to stop relying on Russian oil and develop their own.
