I’m sure they do, but it’s not.

I’m ok with that. It’s pathetic when people walk out or eat half the food and suddenly have an issue with it

That’s why i am all for places like George’s and brew bachers. I will gladly order my food, pay, and go get it from the counter. I don’t need or want wait staff. I can walk to the bar and get a beer or fountain drink machine and get a refill.

I feel it's racist to require someone to have an ID to eat at a restaurant.

I feel you, but I doubt they are doing this to be assholes. Businesses don't do things that cost them money. Someone has determined that turning people away without IDs will cost them less than hoping people pay their bill.

Problem is that people will cry racism over this. Again, no accountability. People say the same shite with credit scores, not realizing that these institutions are are about the dollar bill. If black people all of a sudden started being more financially responsible than whites or Asians, guess who would get the short end of the stick? institutions are lending money, they have to have some way to make money if people are assholes. That way is an algorithm that makes a judgement on your financial habits.

If there were no people who skipped out on the bill, this wouldn't be a thing. Very simple.

The area between Georgetown and Myrtle Beach is where it transforms from the Low Country to the Grand Strand. So you'll have some inter-lap of the 2 right thee

I don't see a problem with this. Can't blame them for protecting themselves.

There are bars that do this. If you don't pay when you order your drink and want to open a tab, they get your card and/or ID, especially if you are not a regular.

This is happening in BR also.. Last time we went to Willys on Coursey (about a year ago) they required a credit card on file before we could order.. said they had too many dine & dashers.

Georgetown is part of the Pee Dee region (not technically low country) along with Murrells Inlet / Myrtle Beach / Conway. There are rice fields all the way up to Darlington.

Conway

Even though it's the county seat of Horry County, it has more in common with Kingstree and Marion than it does with Myrtle Beach.

I don't know why that's necessary. My favorite place in LA just runs your card when you order and gives it back. Very low key, I never really thought about it until I saw this thread.

Myrtle Beach is a shite hole

From about 29th Avenue North to 17th Avenue South is an absolute dump. North of 29th North is the Golden Mile and Restaurant Row. That area has houses that would make the folks on IOP blush. South of 17th South is Springmaid and Market Common, which is almost all wealthy retirees. And every neighboring municipality to Myrtle Beach is much nicer than Myrtle proper, especially North Myrtle Beach and Surfside. And Conway is one of the oldest towns in SC and like a trip back in time.

I understand their frustration but if I go into a restaurant and they want to hold my ID then I’m just leaving.. I’d rather not dine at an establishment that feels their customers are guilty until proven innocent

Myrtle Beach has 2 bike weeks. One makes businesses money the 2nd one....well I've had store owners tell me the Non Harley week is the only time their inventory gets low but the register stays empty.
