Yeah that is an excellent video, worth a watch.
Basically there has not been enough time since the universe came into existence to begin to try to randomly create the most simple protein strands required for life, much less the complexity required for living beings. Most people do not want to hear that though.

I ascribe to the belief that the way humans measure time is not the same way God would measure time. God created the world in 6 days, but who’s to say that the creator’s perception of time is like ours? 6 days according to God’s timeline could be billions of years in the eyes of man.
I also believe that the Idea of God creating the heavens and the Earth doesn’t preclude the Big Bang Theory, but seems to be the only logical explanation for it. As far as we understand physics, something cannot be made from nothing. “Let there be Light” could very well have been the catalyst that started the Big Bang.
It blows my mind that people believe Science and God must be mutually exclusive. The more and more we discover of our universe, the harder I find it to believe that there wasn’t some sort of intelligent design to all of this…

I would say it takes a similar amount of faith for the average person because the average person understands neither God nor science.
I haven't taken the Bible literally since I learned years ago that there are volumes of books that didn't make the cut. These guys were deciding what was the true word of God and what wasn't? Alright.

If you didn't understand that sentence (link) then there is no use for you to attempt to understand the bible.
Don't be embarrassed. I studied under 2 bible scholars in order to get a basic understanding.
