If you're gonna play in Texas, do you still need to have a fiddle in the band?

That line never made sense to me, followed by:

That steel guitar is hot
But not for a Louisiana man

If you're in a fiddle contest and a band of demons join in, is that cheating?

If it doesn’t have a fiddle or steel guitar it isn’t country music.

Banjos? Eh they’re ok in small doses. Little too hillbilly otherwise.

Great band. They put out some damn good music.

If you don’t turn it up and sing along when “Mountain Music” comes on, you need to move to California.

Correct me if I am wrong (I trust that the OT will) but there is no fiddle in that song. Right?

Saw Kershaw at the LSU Union. He was hired by the Louisiana National Guard or Reserves for an impromptu concert somewhere in the Union. Free keg beer. Wasn't a big Kershaw fan, but he sounded good after a few beers.

Either by brilliant marketing or dumb luck, becoming the "House Band" of Myrtle Beach worked out pretty well for those boys.

My mom really loved their music. She was also a big Neil Diamond fan.

I grew up with their music. I took so much shite from other kids in the 80's cause I listed to country. I'd say "my home's in Harlan County" while singing this song. Then years later I end up moving to Alabama.

My Home's in Alabama 1980

Alabama is probably the first music I remember hearing from my childhood. Love their shite.
