The other part of this...are cities have to actually want AND have a MLB expansion plan. Only Portland, Vegas and Nashville have one to my knowledge.

Nashville MLB Proposal:

Portland MLB Proposal:

Baton Rouge.

ATL is 8 hours away and they won't let us watch the Texas teams. Put a small market boutique type franchise there with a really nice 25-30k park with nice SRO areas for young families and beer bros. Or New Orleans but preferably baton rouge.

Stop with the Vancouver and Montreal talk...they dont even have proposals on the table. They dont even care about baseball enough in those cities. Plenty of good American cities to choose from. If MLB wanted to go international, they would go to Latin America...where they actually LOVE baseball. Mexico City or San Juan...San Juan sold out EVERY game when Montreal was moving and played their home games in San Juan. Every single game!! Don't think that MLB didnt take notice. Canada should not be a target of MLB.

They can dual use the superdome like they did for LSU baseball games in the 90s and early 2000s

I will say Portland or Charlotte should be the choice.

Seattle Mariners closest team is the Oakland A’s. Adding a team there would be nice from a geographical standpoint.

Same rules applies for Charlotte. You have the Braves with their closest opponents in the NL being Washington and Miami. Charlotte would be a good addition to the East coast.

And just no to any consideration in Texas, California or New York they have enough teams.

Austin or Nashville would be ideal being in Louisiana. Would be sick if Nola wasn’t such a shite hole and could attract a MLB franchise

Yea but just think they could build it out there by past time. Backdrop of the bridge and they could hit bombs in the river. Build a bypass for em to help that little traffic right there. Plus with NIL the tigers could easily farm right into the team.

Birmingham would be an utter disaster. The metro area isn’t large enough to support an MLB team. Maybe NBA? Maybe, but just not likely.

Here we go again with people always thinking Texas team owners have that much power. Texas and Houston cant decide by themselves. Good thing they aren't the only ones to have a vote and only require a certain percentage to pass. Austin/San Antonio will get more pro sports in the future...NOTHING they can do about it.

This is just false. There is a reason the A’s proposed move to Fremont was shut down.

Just use that Portland rendering and put it in BR. People in Portland don't like baseball. Austin is more an MLS town. Nashville is still too far. The people of the gulf coast deserve a team. Imagine Austin and Aaron bringing a world series home together in their hometown.

Charlotte would make sense. But #32 might be hard to guess.

Oakland is a sure bet to head to Vegas. Tampa could be, but then it may not. If Nashville doesn't get a relocation then it would likely be the other pick.

Also, you have to remember...how would this impact alignment? Would the league go back to just an East/West Split? With 16 teams in each league, it would make sense to go to two 8 team divisions with an East/West split.....or would they consider four 4 team divisions with a North, South, East and West format? Lots to figure out.

Lets just assume the expansion is Nashville and Portland for the sake of argument. How would this alignment look to you?

AL East:

New York
Boston
Toronto
Baltimore
Cleveland
Detroit
Tampa Bay
Nashville*

AL West:

Chicago White Sox
Minnesota
Kansas City
Texas
Houston
Seattle
LA Angeles
Las Vegas/Oakland

NL East:

New York
Philadelphia
Washington
Atlanta
Miami
Cincinnati
Pittsburgh
Milwaukee

NL West:

LA Dodgers
San Francisco
San Diego
Arizona
Colorado
Chicago Cubs
St Louis
Portland*

Baseball has become such a regional game. MLB needs to be sure that the expansion only goes to cities that will support baseball with ticket sales. The Florida experiment has been a disaster as far as attendance goes. Especially Tampa. They play in a dump and folks just don't care. They still have a great baseball organization.

Baseball needs to look at hardcore sports towns, like Buffalo, and Indy in the east. Portland would have a massive turnout for a bingo game.
