From my post in the BBQ Rambling thread:
Houston is a large place and all sprawled out. Traffic is a pain so be mindful of that.
On the good side of things, Houston is the BBQ capital of the world. Some top-shelf joints in and around town:
The Pit Room
Killens (Pearland)
Roegels (Voss Rd location)
Corkscrew (Old Town Spring)
Brett's BBQ Shop (Katy)
Truth
Pinkertons
Harlem Rd (Richmond)
Brisket House
Some others I've not yet been to but are reputable:
Feges (two locations)
Tejas (Tomball)
Blood Brothers (Bellaire)

Pinkertons for great brisket. Get a ranch water from the bar to wash it down.

Pinkerton taught me how to cook brisket. Love their fatty….. other recs are solid too. If I’m picking a few, would recommend Pit Room, Corkscrew, & Truth as well. Lots of good options. Gatlin’s had surprisingly good fatty brisket too.

i have Truth #1 on my list, their brisket and sausage really impressed me.
long lines at pretty much any establishment though.
Pit Room does a chili frito that i'm addicted to for no reason

We ate at The Pit Room and thought it was great.

Blood brothers is great. They have a regular daily menu of Standard Texas BBQ fair and also have a rotating daily menu of BBQ/Asian fusion.

Bumping this for a question...
I'll be in Houston in a couple weeks... rolling into town between 12:30-1:30 on a Friday afternoon.
If I hit Pinkerton's or Truth will they be sold out by then?
