Yeah, but no one over the age of 10 likes the Minions. They’re simply annoying and don’t have a character to speak of. Buzz Lightyear is still popular with many adults.

They are a total ripoff of the Rabbids from Rayman.

We don't have to pretend. That's the reason.

#Disney’s spinoff #Lightyear started 3rd weekend grossing just 2M on 3rd FRI at US #BoxOffice, steep -63% from last FRI.
Even so, the Pixar film is the first non-Universal animation to cross 100M during pandemic era
Eyeing a 7M-9M 3rd 3-day weekend & 127M-137M US run

That’s a lot of qualifiers to try and find a positive spin.

$125 mil domestic and an even worse international is seriously an epic failure.

It’s nearly $100 million behind the Bad Guys from Dreamworks. This may top Solo as the biggest “Get Woke Go Broke.”

I dunno. I follow old row and Barstool U accounts and a lot of college age frat boys are going to see this. Some dressed up as minions, some in full suit and tie.

I’m sure it’s being done ironically somewhat.

I am curious if it’s a bit of nostalgia that toy story is for millennials. Kids that were 6-10 are in college now so it kinda lines up.

Announcer:Bill Smith is hitting .420 with a runner on first, facing a left handed pitcher, with outbound winds greater than 11 mph heading to the right field fence, after 3pm, in an outdoor stadium with foul bleachers, in Ohio, during the 3rd week of August, on a leap year.

Wait, the second baseman's name ends in a vowel? Well that changes the math!
