The Consumer Fuel Price Gouging Act

Sounds good, you would think that it would get many votes to protect us. Oops, not quite. All Republicans in the House voted against it. So if you think someone is gouging you on fuel, ask your GOP Congressman why they wanted you to be gouged.
Unless you demand to know why Democrats or Republicans voted a certain way then they will not feel any pressure to vote for the common good.

You're a fricking retard
They aren't investing in leases and drilling because they are being punished for it.
A tax on the sale based on supply and demand is an attack too. So why would anyone produce when they are being threatened?
frick you Biden loving motherfrickers

Follow the money see who is getting how much from certain groups and you’ll see why they’re voting against it

Price gouging isn’t why fuel is high.

I don’t want our government…especially the current government, telling any business what they can and can’t charge for any commodity.

If the government really wanted to make a difference they would suspend the gas tax, you disgusting partisan hack bag of inside out assholes.

Economically, "gouging" is a good thing.

You think price controls are going to fix this?
You have the IQ of a rock. Look back through history and tell me how well price controls have controlled prices. It’s going to create more scarcity and continue to drive prices up. It does the opposite of what is intended. This is supply and demand. We need more supply but president dumb frick told the country that we are moving away from fossil fuels. That makes investors and speculators believe the price will rise in the future as supply falls, so they continue to buy at higher and higher prices.
But I wouldn’t expect you to be able to figure that out

So you are blaming Biden as the reason your GOP congressman thinks it is ok for you to be gouged on fuel?
Well with that reasoning then you might be able to make a case for Louisiana to have the best economy of all states in 2022.

Do you know the best way to prevent price gouging?
You create more supply
You create more supply

There is no such thing as price gouging
It’s called market forces
Some of you have this bizarre notion that capping prices will make fuel easier to get for people
Prices are simply a way goods and services are rationed
You cap prices, you will simply ration goods another way

Man I am really glad you brought this to my attention! It has completely changed my mind about the Republicans. I’ll never vote for them again because you exposed them for the horrible, selfish people they are! Lol. You are so damn dumb it is really stupefying. You think you are changing any minds with that drivel?

What is "price gouging" specifically?
Posted on 6/17/22 at 7:31 pm to Purplehaze
You are a stupid sack of shite
Explain to me why oil companies randomly in 2022 decide to price gouge, and not in 2020,19,etc?

So someone from Louisiana, with some of the worst roads in the USA, wants to suspend the only source of revenue to build or repair roads?

You are usually a clown.
This is honestly one of the best things I’ve ever seen you post. I’m not a fan of yours but I can applaud your thought process there and give you credit.

Do we need to have fuel value chain and pricing structure and dynamics 101 for this board?
Clearly we do.
The metaphor for focusing on gouging in terms of drivers of today’s fuel price is like skipping over 10 dead human bodies en route to save a frog.
