We're coming to the big sporting goods store to pick up a load deer stands and looking for a lunch spot. Something with a beer selection or decent cocktail would be a plus. Thanks

There’s a great vegan place there with a talented Mixologist. I’ll try and find the name for you.

Yes. A sporting goods store in Bastrop LA. I just have no clue if they have anything worth eating there, and figured someone on here might.

I advise against going to Bastrop.
Make sure you are driving 5 under the speed limit and they still might pull you over and claim you are speeding. The speed limit will change every 500 feet.
I was told to just keep driving until you got out Bastrop if I got pulled over again, they said they wouldn't follow you outside of the city and no other law enforcement would help them. I don't know how solid that info is.

Short answer, not really.
Long Answer:
If you want something with alcohol you'll need to hit a Mexican joint or the Italian place. Of Mexican joints you have (2) options, Fiesta Linda and Juanitos. Both are about the same food quality wise. They're decent run of the mill Mex places. Juanitos is right across the street from Simmons (the big sporting goods store), so if you're doing Mexican I would go there.
The Italian place is Roma, located on the courthouse square. It's not bad. It actually was really good pre-Covid, but it's fallen off some. Best chance at a cocktail and they have a couple beers on tap.
They rest of these places won't have booze at all:
Duck Blind- Located in Simmons. Good burgers, salads and sandwhiches etc. It's a fine boozeless lunch option.
Slaydens BBQ- A Strop City tradition for many decades. It's ok, not great BBQ. The bbq chicken is really good if you can get it the day it was made. The problem with Slaydens is they don't sell till they run out. They'll heat that shite up and sell it the next day. So it can be a crap shoot. Good burgers and minced meat sandwhiches though.
Macks BBQ- It's in the hood. Better Q than Slaydens imo, but the sides aren't hitting on much. Slight chance of getting shot which adds adventure to your dining experience.
PT's Eat a Bite- The local greasy spoon cafe. It has also been a Bastop institution for many decades. Typical diner fare, and meat and 3's. Located on the courthouse square catty corneer from Roma.
Granny's Buffet- It's a big buffet place, filled with big buffet place people. It's alright if that's your thing.
The Skunk Haired Lady's Cheveron- The skunk haired lady runs a stellar heat lamp operation. Krispy Krunchy chicken with all the sides, meat pies, crispitos, boudin balls and a variety of other fried foods. They also have bbq chicken and ribs and make a fine chicken salad sandwich.
That's about it, other than fast food. If you do that I would choose Wendy's. The rest aren't run very well.
ETA- shite, I forgot Johnny's Pizza. I may get run out of NELA. They'll have a pizza buffet going, which is not that great to me. I would order a Sweep the Kitchen from the counter. They do have Bud Light and Miller Lite on tap. A Sweep and a pitcher of beer makes for a fine lunch.

Not very. Bastrop barely has a police dept, and you rarely see them running radar. Strop City is like the wild wild west. The Morehouse Parish deputies will light you up if you're speeding out in the parish, but they don't really patrol the city.

I haven't been up that way in a while but the last time I was I ate at a place called Big Johns. I don't remember if they served alcohol but the food was good.

No Big John's in Strop City. There's one in Rayville, Winnsboro and Ferriday. The latter being the best one.

Your best bet is to grab a burger at the restaurant they have upstairs and head to the camp. Maybe grab a daiquiri in the drive thru down the road.
