Whitaker? I remember reading about this.

Yes. This happened when he was 24, so 6 or so years since I had last seen him. We were pretty good friends for a bit, then he got into drugs in the later high school years and we went our separate ways in life.

Next day I get to work and find out one of my employees had walked up behind her and bear-hugged picked her up and tried to carry her to his car. She had thought it was some kind of awkward joke at first but as he approached his car she panicked. Police came and arrested him. He had good taste but somewhat lacked in technique.

So what happened here? Was it a joke? Was he trying to kidnap her?

Guy I graduated with was arrested after robbing a few banks and convenience stores with a crossbow.

Co-worker was murdered by a druggie who mistook her apartment for someone else's, broke down the door, and was pissed that the person he was looking for wasn't there. Killed her with a claw hammer. She was a few weeks from graduating college.

My boss supposedly committed suicide, but everybody kinda knew his wife killed him. Clues just didn't point to suicide.

I worked in banking in the late 90s and opened a safety deposit box for Tilden and Stacie Harris. Wasn't weird at the time as I knew them both from high school.Few weekends later Tilden paid a hitman to kill Stacie at the Tinseltown movie theatre on Siegan. Hitman was caught quickly due to his personalized license plate. This year marked 25 years since Stacie's death, and Tilden is serving life in Angola.

Had a neighbor who was caught stealing from the bank she worked at. She pled out and had to pay a lot in restitution. She got hired in Orleans Parish School Payroll department despite having an embezzlement conviction.

In her new job she cut checks in her maiden name, which no one realized until she starting cutting checks to the bank for her restitution. The bank wanted to know why the school board was paying her restitution. Then Katrina hit and never saw her again, not sure the School Board went after her.

At a college job I had in BR there was a guy that worked in the shipping department that we knew had a bad temper. He was cool to work with but one time his car would not start and he tried to work on it but no luck. Then took out a hammer and beat the crap out of the car. Anyway him and his wife were off and on again. He finally just decided to move to California. A few weeks later the wife followed him out there and confronted him about something. He shot and killed her. Got life in prison.

At my job in Houston we had an engineer that was an older guy a few years from retirement named Mike. He was in charge of looking after the patents our company had or wanted to develop. He had a contract patent lawyer helping him with the legal side of things. One morning the lawyer showed up at Mike's office and shot Mike to death before turning the gun on his self. Craziest day of work I ever had ending with the whole building meeting with HR to discuss the incident before driving past all the local media wanting to interview us.

My friends 65+ year old dad caught an std from the woman he was having an affair with and he committed suicide…no one knew the real reason but I know someone in the PDs office.

My Manager’s 17 year old son, who had already been accepted in the marines, was tricked by 2 classmates to meet them at their HS at 10pm one night(he thought he was meeting his girlfriend)…they overpowered him and choked him to death and then tried to bury him in a wooded area very close to a busy road. Someone called the cops because they thought a car had run off the road, when the kids came out, cops asked them what they were doing, they both said burying a body…they both pleaded out 25 yrs no parole…
They set him up because one of the guys wanted his girl.

I had a buddy get pulled over by dudes that stole an unmarked police car. Had vests in the back so they looked kinda legit until they pulled out a revolver. Dude handed them his wallet and then called the police.

Damn, this one was just on Dateline last week. I couldn't help but laugh when she claimed she didn't know what she was doing at the time of the murder, then they showed surveillance footage of her van circling the school before and after the murder.

Guy was funny as hell, big time smart arse. Definitely one of my favorite instructors I had there. Didn’t keep in touch since I moved back to the Southeast a few years later, but happened to read about the case a few years ago and had a ‘Oh shite, I know that guy!’ moment.

I knew a guy in the Navy who got in a lot of trouble for an incident in the Middle East.

He wrote "A Ramadan present" on a missile and signed it. Some jackass took a picture of it and shared it. I thought it was hilarious, but he never got promoted above a certain level for that.

Went to school all my life with James Magee, and we never said a word to each other:
"On April 18, 2007, James C. Magee shot and killed his wife Adrienne and their five-year-old son, Zack. He also injured his two daughters, nine-year-old S.M. and eight-year-old L.M. At the time of the shootings, James and Adrienne, who wed in 1998, had been married for approximately eight years."

That family is sick as shite, the brother jason "matt" killed his ex wife and boyfriend.

I don't know this person, but he's a relative of my wife's step-father. His wife went missing a few years ago. They found her abandoned bicycle by the side of the road (they lived in a rural area outside of Denver), but she was gone without a trace. After an investigation that found no body and some circumstantial evidence, he was arrested. He spent several months in jail as the DA tried to build a case, but he was eventually set free. They did a Dateline:NBC episode about the case, of course, trying to make him sound as guilty as possible, then in the last 10 minutes of the show mention they had her cell phone which had texts and phone calls to some dude she was having an affair with that lived in the Midwest somewhere.
