4 -6 across line wrapping around the station. How much gas are they burning sitting idle for like an hour with the A/C on full blast, all to save a few nickels a gallon? Not to mention is their time worth so little to them?

I go early in the morning when no one is there. With the citi card, I get 4% off plus executive membership cash back. Needless to say, it'd probably be worth it to wait even a little bit saving 20 cents a gallon at already lower gas prices compared to other stations.

I wait 5 minutes max at either the Cumberland or Brookhaven Costco’s in ATL. All about timing.

The NOLA costco has 2 security officers now and they don't let you in between lanes anymore.

It does seem Costco pumps are really fast. Also if your car requires premium they are by far the cheapest on that.

Where are y’all filling up in BR where this is an issue?

I live in the Sherwood/Goodwood area so I'll absolutely wait 5 minutes to fill up at Costco as opposed to getting shanked by an I-12 bridge bum

I thought there was no EM cash back for fuel purchases. Idk. I'm just realizing maybe I haven't checked the mail but o haven't gotten the end of year cash back coupon in a few years I think.
I've always had the black card. I almost never step foot in the store. I just use the hell out of Costco travel. I couldn't imagine renting a car any other way.

You forgot one more thing. Nobody is asking me for money in the Costco gas line.

Costco contracts w/Valero and they use 2X Top Tier(r) fuel additives concentration in their fuel. This is 5x the lowest additive concentration required by the EPA. Other than Techron/Chevron who use a (PEA) polyether amine additive, Costco is hands down the best quality gasoline you can buy.

I doubt this is true

How early? I didn’t think they open until 9:00 or so.

I think you’re right. The Citi card is legit for 4 percent cash back for first 7k spent every year on gas.

I have been wanting to post this question as well? What am I missing? what is so valuable about costco gas? Its not even the cheapest here in Huntsville but all day and night its 8-10 cars deep in line for these pumps. I dont get it.

I'm gonna let you in on a little secret...that Exxon or Shell branded gasoline you think you're buying, there is a 95% chance it came from the same storage tank that your unbranded gas station is selling.

All that matters is the additive (Techron for example)...it's all the same gas, that probably never touched a bit of Shell or Exxon equipment in its entire lifespan...from well head to gas station pump.

Just don't buy from mom and pop stores that don't get a lot of traffic.

Right, and I don't want to spend an extra 15-20 minutes to save a dollar...the other dollar was still wasted while sitting idle.

Meanwhile, the time between your OP and this reply is 15 minutes. I imagine you’ve spent that time sitting idle, scrolling tigerdroppings, and checking for replies to your post.

Rather than wasting that time, you could be getting gas at COSTCO, while scrolling tigerdroppings and saving a few bucks on gas.

No, I'm at work. I don't waste time on my time.

Around here the Sams and Costco are quite a bit cheaper than anywhere else.

It's more like 10 minutes where I live...and when you also get money back for gas purchased (4% back on gasoline purchases for the first $7,000 per year and then 1% after that) it is even more than the $0.05 you are saving per gallon.
