The way Woj made it seem, he is opting in.

We continue to be steadily bringing in guys expected to potentially be available at 8.

I feel like anyone claiming we are X player or bust at this point isn't reading the obvious tea leaves.

Griffin wont have even worked out for this team til this week. If we were X player or bust, we wouldn't be continuing to bring in all these top 10ish guys for workouts/interviews.

He can’t get traded until he opts in….which if this is on the table, then I’m guessing he intends to do that.

Now OKC could waive and stretch him though, and then he could sign wherever he wants. He might get close to the MLE money on a contender….or maybe if there is an opportunity for a three team trade he could get sent our way.

Hunch is he is getting the same advice Milos did.

Go to the NBA now or never, where you will probably get a few million dollars more and roll the dice. If it doesnt work out you'll still have a decent paycheck coming your way back in Europe.

That's what I wanna know, "Why aren't they interested in guys like Sharpe and Mathurin"?

I know the OKC bloggers are starving for that 8th pick, so people are proposing multiple pieces in a potential trade, but Hollinger mentioned today in his FA PG article that a future 2nd is his value.

Even if it involves a salary dump, I just can't see trading out of the 8th pick for a guy with future second round pick value, that OKC has no interest in rostering.

Anything they get for this guy is gravy for them, because they have no interest in him. Plus, we know they're gonna flip Graham for assets down the road.

Also, I could be wrong, but the success rate of guys that come over from Europe later in their career seems atrocious.

They'll trade him for a late 1st or multiple 2nds to a playoff team/contender.

I can see him providing spacing for:
Milwaukee (enough defense to cover him)
Brooklyn (just outscore you)
NYK (need guards)
Dallas (lose brunson to FA)
Denver (health issues)

I don’t particularly trust Trajan’s evaluation of overseas prospects. Melli and Didi were misses

I don’t really get the hype over this guy. He was a late 2nd round pick then traded for a late 2nd pick a few years later. Like Bronc said, he’s still a low ceiling player that could be a bust. The most we should give up is a late 2nd rounder. The hit rate of Europeans coming to the nba in there late 20s is low.

Or us, with Zion back, if we just practice a little patience.

From all reports, the Pels FO really likes Mathurin.

Agreed. Graham was always brought in to play with Zion and space the floor for him. I don't see why they would trade him before ever seeing them play a minute together.

If OKC made a real offer, that would be one thing. But we don't need to dump Graham yet and Micic isn't worth dropping from mid to late lottery.

That's not a rumor, that's from me trying to come up with a reason that the Pels would trade back. The only reasons I can come up with all require the Pels to not like multiple players that they probably should and do like.

I guess the question is do they need to like a guy, or love a guy. Is the difference between Daniels and Mathurin enough for them to trade back? I keep going back on the Haliburton thing from a few years ago, if they don't love a guy they may be content to move back/kick the can down the road a bit.

Well that's always good to know they like Mathurin. I hope they have interest in Sharpe too.
