Making that drive everyday up Bluebonnet would drive me insane. Fun fact, the highest percentage of DWI offenses for the city comes from that stretch on Bluebonnet from Burbank to Nicholson Dr. LSP and the EBRSO feast in that area.

Where is that? Off of Highland Rd somewhere?

Across from Lee High on the north side of the bayou. Its hidden back in the wooded area. House is ridiculously over the top

Come join us in South Downs baw
Southdowns is probably the most convenient neighborhood in Baton Rouge. Close to the interstate. Easy to get everywhere (except for the traffic, but no neighborhood relieves anyone of traffic in BR). Close to LSU. Can walk to grocery stores and restaurants if you want. Can drop off your car at Gordon and Sandifer and walk home. Easy distance from SJA and Catholic (or BR High).
You won’t get a lot of house for the money, but the convenience is worth it.

Even CCLA isn’t immune. They had the guy burglarizing houses a year or two ago.

OP, based on the criteria listed, I’d look along Highland Road between Siegen and I-10. I’d also suggest Jefferson Highway between Airline and Essen.
I would be hesitant to live out in UClub. It’s far from everything and an absolute bitch to exit in the morning. I would also be miserable making that drive down Bluebonnet Extension every day.
Oak Hills is nice but it is way too close to Siegen and gets a lot of unwanted visitors.
Southdowns is nice but old.
Garden District/Capital Heights is right next to the ghetto and is on the receiving end of criminal activity every night.

I lived in there at the time. He was using a boat (kayak or canoe) and coming through the bayou and sticking to the course at night and targeting houses where people were out of town. Don’t remember how he had inside info on out of towers.

IEJT....older subdivision (at least in the front part) but has quite a few lots up for sale and lot of renovation and new construction going on as well.
We just moved (kids grown) from Pville to IEJT. Renovated house with great yard. Not our forever home but very happy. Hope to turn the house into an income property in 2-3 years
Walkable neighborhood with nice park. Cut my commute in half too

I don’t know how people do it. That drive would make me crazy. I actually really like U Club as a neighborhood too. Just too far.

A joke I heard about UClub is that it’s zip code is 7082far. We love being right off I-10 at Highland. Easy to hop on to get to the stores at Siegen or the Mall/Bluebonnet area. My daughter is in the back “new” section of Jefferson Terrace [where the tiny lakes are] and really likes that area too.

U club is a really nice neighborhood and will be really convenient to the new development on Bluebonnet.
St. Jude school goes up to 8th grade. Its a great school.

My best friend just bought in that new part of JT as well. He seems to really like it. Nice location as far as part of town goes too.
I like the area you're in, and I'm jealous of your proximity to Home Depot lately. That said, we are in University Acres and I honestly love this area as well. Pretty much every neighborhood along Highland is a great place to be, IMO. You get far back enough like we are, and it is totally quiet and serene.
