I have a neighbor who goes like 2-3 times per year before covid..she is one of the rabid fans of disney…she went for the first time AFTER covid and she said she aint goin no more..she cited the dining plan and something about the fast passes are hard to get so its not worth it no more…anyone else have similar experiences or is she over her Disney phase?

Did she mention anything about the grooming? Bc that's the 500 lb elephant in the room.

She sounds extremely fat.

Is that accurate?

There are no dining plans any longer. And fast passes are now Lightning Lanes. You must purchase an app for you phone to secure the Lightning Lanes, and then spend much of the day refreshing the app. I took my young daughters in April.

If her biggest complaint was the dining plan then yeah she is fat

Sounds like she was one of the one's who gamed the Fastpass system, which they killed after Covid. Sounds like sour grapes. Here's a video describing it in detail:

It’s nowhere near as convenient with the new geenie plus system as the old fast passes were…and they were free. We had the cheap Florida resident annual passes for about 5 years before Covid and would take the kids regularly and had figured out how to crush it on the old system.

We could plan a bunch of stuff out and get through a day quickly without having to be on the dumb app all day.

Eh, From my experience when my kids were younger, the dining plan is continually tweaked and has at times been great and other time a PIA because of how they structure your options.

But then again, odds suggest you may be right

A one hour and forty two minute video? Cliffs? I can wait in line faster than that.

Karen's sat on their computers months before they went to Disney to rig the Fastpass system. It is an interesting watch.

Recently returned from my last trip ever earlier this month.

Fast passes are a pain, and are about to get worse. Now, if you want to get one of the more popular rides, you have to wake up early the day of and compete with everyone else who is doing it. Soon, you'll only be able to buy fast passes the day of, then you'll have to compete again. I'm not sure why they're doing this, but it is dumb. That said, we basically fast passed this entire last trip and it was much better. Most rides/experiences just aren't worth what it costs or dealing with the people.

There is no dining plan since CoVID, at least not that I'm aware of. On-site food is ridiculously expensive and not very good.

Disney World is not real .

Why go there?

The Rocky Mountain National Park is real.

I'd rather go there.

Don’t go to Disney during summer and major holidays. It’s never not going to be a disaster

Went in December and was disappointed…rides broke down consistently and the cost of everything was insane. My nieces loved it but it’s gotten so bad in the last ten years since I went last.

Went in February, wont be going back. You have to have reservations to get into a park aside from a park ticket. Even with the reservation system the parks are still over crowded and the staff has changed too. Most of them are rude and not welcoming. Walts vision is dead.

Besides all the grooming and political crap they’re involving themselves with, Disney has kept increasing their prices on just about everything. You used to get free parking if you stayed at Disney resort, no longer a thing. Tickets and Season passes have become crazy expensive. The hotels are expensive and most aren’t even all that great. You name it they have increased the price on it. Even people I know who aren’t bothered by the grooming crap find that It isn’t worth the money anymore. Bill oreilly did an analysis on this a few months ago. He found that It is actually cheaper for a family of 4 to travel to Disney land in Paris for a weekend than it is to go to Disney world in Orlando. That includes airfare and hotels.

The reservation system sucks. I've been 5 times since covid. The last was the first time we dealt with Genie+
Really hated it. The ILL system where you buy access to the best rides I sorry of like. I'll pay $10 not to wait 2 hours. But I think they made a lot of bad changes.

Not being able to just walk up and order food at many places updates people too.
We have one disney trip next Mardi gras in the pipeline. But we used to go more often.
Focusing on large US cities they haven't been to, instead.
