The DEA is all in on investigating Doctors and pharmacists, THEY WILL PUSH MORE PEOPLE TO STREET DRUGS.
They have turned an epidemic of controlled narcotic OD's into an apocalypse of street fentanyl overdoses and their foot is still on the gas at warp speed.
Classic government response.

Maybe the last few years have just worn away my last bit of compassion.
If you’re stupid enough to take illegal drugs and die from fentanyl, oh well. We need some Darwinism in the world.
Make weed legal, safe, and cheap. Most people can get the buzz they want on that or alcohol.
Those that resort to harder drugs probably weren’t a productive member of society anyway.

Who is dying? I literally do not know anyone who died from Fentanyl overdose. Who, in their right mind would take street drugs, knowing the chance of toxicity is real? Early on, yes, dumb kids made some errors in choosing friends and habits. But NOW? TODAY? how many die ignorant of the stupid chance they will die?

I understand where you’re coming from. But.. addicts and degenerates aren’t the only ones suffering though. Normal people that are good members of society use illegal drugs.
What if the morally superior potheads start to get tainted weed and start dying?

My son just lost a childhood friend that had fentanyl in apparently. He wasn’t a dumb dope head but a pretty great guy that happened to do a stupid thing. Yes of course he shouldn’t have done it but people make a irrational decision, this one coast him his life. The one thing the government should do is to protect Americans from this kind of madness. If we can money and troops all over the world to provide protection for others then it should be after ourselves

And Trump was a madman for wanting to bomb the cartels

$40B to Ukraine instead of $40B to protect our border where 95% of fentanyl comes from

Should have done this 4+ years ago.

I have lost two family members to that crap in the last 8 months. Both had issues with drugs, but neither was expecting to die from taking one pill.

Drug dealers cut their product with fentanyl bc 1) it’s cheap and 2) hardcore users want that more potent high. However, when an average drug user unknowingly uses product laced with fentanyl, they die.
We could cut down on these accidental deaths with a testing kit. Member when kits came out to test for the date rape drug in drinks?
Kentucky ABC provides free date rape drug for bars

I honestly don't have a problem with investigating pill farm docs, but I agree fentanyl is the bigger problem.

Even the worst addict in the world knows the inevitable consequence of repeated drug use. Today, consuming hard drugs is like playing Russian roulette with 5 in the chamber.

Compare fentanyl deaths to gun deaths.
Which one is getting all the attention?

a son of a family friend was part of a group of EIGHT 'friends' who all died a week or so ago. Fentanyl
A friend of my wifes son was part of a group of 5 or 6 that had 3 or 4 deaths a month or so ago. Fentanyl.
My wifes bosses (a doctor with a super successful practice) son was a part of a group of 7 or 8 kids; 5 died two months ago. Fentanyl

I high school kid in my area died last year from it. When I was in high school and college people took all kinds of stuff. The drugs then just did not have the same kind of risk. Fentanyl is much more dangerous than any drug that was around back then.
