IRS deposited my refund - twice

Just noticed on my bank statement that the IRS sent me two deposits for my tax refund, both within a dollar of each other.
I obviously should've only had one.
It's been about a month and is still there, I would think this could potentially cause more issues than it's worth just by leaving it in there, who would you even contact about something like that?

Put it somewhere to draw interest until they come back to ask for it.

I could contact IRS.. Or ask an accountant at the very least, but keep it because they will find those type of mistakes.

We are ALL already doing that. Pay your "fair share" and shut up Deplorable.

Donate it to Jason Williams. He owes about $720k.

Pull your transcript and see what your account balance is.

do this ^^^^^^^
when they come for it you will be charged 11% daily fee for every day you kept it. they have higher interest rates then loan sharks and you have zero choice but to pay the insane penalty rates even though it was their mistake.
i had an $800 mistake and a year later they added $1200 in penalties and i had 5 days to pay or they start adding 11% daily interest to it

It’s literally your money. Keep it and if they contact you about it tell them to frick off.

Put it all on Bammer to cover October 8th.

Make a "good faith" effort to contact them and keep the paper trail. If you don't hear from them in 90 days, cocaine and hookers.

This is what I'm afraid of.
I emailed their help desk, is there an easier way to contact them? I wasn't able to find much.

They'll likely come back for it eventually, but even if you tried to reach out to them you probably can't get in contact with them.
Just make sure you have it wien they come calling, but I wouldn't do anything about it now.

Did you have someone prepare your taxes for you, like an accountant or attorney? If so, I would probably just see what they say first before you go through the incredible hassle of trying to get someone at the IRS on the phone.
If you did them yourself, perhaps contact your bank and see what they say. They may not have any advice, but again, it would be worth trying before calling the IRS.
