It’s pretty simple. If you’re doing something outdoorsy and it’s hot outside, shorts are acceptable. If either of those conditions are not met, shorts are trashy.

Other than work or some formal event I don’t wear pants from April to October. I worked at a few golf courses when I was in college and it’s definitely not the norm.
