I think you win a few and you lose a few. Having the best players is obviously a good thing but there’s more to that than winning championships.

Reduce scholarship numbers to 70 per team and recruiting classes to 20 players. That may spread the talent out more evenly.

I’m willing to watch what some would consider an inferior product as long as long as we are watching STUDENT athletes play for their universities and the competition is fair and competitive.
But why are people like yourself willing to go along with coaching staffs that are headed by multi millionaires, with assistants who also make millions, and watch their schools build Taj Mahals for their programs? You watch games run by networks who control the game because they pump hundreds of millions of dollars into the universities.
You don’t care about that, but when players get a bigger piece of the pie you get upset. Why is that?

I love capitalism.
I like the college product the way it was. If someone thinks they can stand up a different league and make money, I wish them the best.

The government is the ones that allowed theNIL stuff. Nothing the ncaa can do about it, so they need to do something about the transfer rules. They cannot coexist.

Reinstate the one year sit out rule on transfers, that will help. That must be done. The NIL stuff just legalized cheating. Genie is out da bottle.

Nothing.
I mean, its already changed the game. You don't have to wait 3 years.
Players are now here on a season by season basis, maybe less. Rosters will be incredibly dynamic, and not all in a good way. Its just a semi pro league now with one year roster builds.
Then you'll have kids like Max Johnson who will probably be somewhere else in 2023. Your QB this year might be at Alabama next year.

In 4 years we will see the results of the terrible decisions being made now. Grant it some will workout (30%) , but the vast majority of the NIL Deals will not.
By then, Many Schools will become wise, and hopefully Rules and Laws will get things back in order.
Because if changes don't come CFB will be a thing of the past.

The intent of NIL was to relieve the pressure of the NCAA having to cover up what was already rampant in college football.
I don't doubt they were getting paid but do you think it was this much money and this wide spread?

It will only ruin college football for me if LSU can’t keep pace which I am confident we can.

Just don’t get too excited when LSU signs a 5* high school athlete to a college scholarship.. he could be here today for the next season and be gone the following season becuz of a better NIL deal somewhere else..can’t say it can’t happen becuz the NCAA will or can change the rules to suit the athletes or get sued in court…the freshman Ohio State Qb signed a 1 million dollar NIL deal only to throw 11 passes all season for Ohio State then transferred to Texas on a better deal.. same thing with the Oklahoma Qb whose now at USC..money talks..College free agency at its best..

Yep, and the vast majority of that is spent on facilities. How much of the money currently spent on facilities do you think should be simply given to players?

WTFYB. It happened 6 mos ago. WTF did you think was going to happen.

College football will never be the same or as good as it once was, NEVER. I'm ok with that I've seen a lot of good years. It's only going to take a few years to see how much the game has changed. The Bowl Season sucks worse than ever and that use to be the greatest time of year for football---2019 was worth every penny we spent.

Overpayment will correct itself when some of these guys are bust. I think it’s a good idea to be involved without selling the house like A&M. It will become more efficient and may actually keep some prospects out of the draft.
But coach Bimbo said money had nothing to do with them having the greatest recruiting class of all time.?.?
