What a game!

They won this partly yesterday when they battled and worked this pitcher for almost 40 pitches, I think. I thought he was surely burned for today, but they ran him out there without his best stuff, and Cade made him pay.

I hate to overreact too much, but they may have just saved the season.

And don’t underestimate how big Berry’s AB was. He was frustrated on 2 called strikes he disagreed with that at bat after a few others earlier in the game, but he stayed in his AB, stayed focused, and put a great swing on a line drive single to left. Mentally tough. He could have given that AB up. Instead, he gets the hit, puts the pressure on their pitcher without his best stuff, who makes a mistake, and our boy Cade was ready to make him pay for it.

Also, very big top of the 9th by Gervase to keep it at 1. Went the total opposite way yesterday.

Berry expected them to pitch safe, that’s why he went down in the count.

Fontenot had probably his best game of the year and Bianco produced defensively
