Sounding like Amazon is going to kill off their Baton Rouge project

AMAZON "'NO LONGER CHASING PHYSICAL OR STAFFING CAPACITY". Amazon just posted a $3.8 billion dollar quarterly loss a few minutes ago.
CFO said Amazon "doubled their fulfillment network since Covid began and now they have "too much space"
This is from their Earnings Call that is taking place right now. So expect the national media to break the story shortly. Also expect significant layoffs from Amazon as they just admitted the company is now bloated with employees.

They are finding out that building out these physical spaces is costing them billions because they only serve as return centers for consumers.

Maybe they are fully hired up but the timing does sound like they probably are gonna hold up on expansion

Amazes me the jack offs that jump on here and post BS stuff with no context or supporting info. Pissed at the world clock pinchers that don’t want anyone or any company to be successful.

Town Square Capital
Also means that Amazon is about to layoff a lot of employees.
The quotes were from their Earnings Call a few minutes ago so I'm sure the media will cover it shortly.

Without even opening the link I bet the OP is full of shite about the BR location not happening

That one quoted phrase alone does not indicate projects already under completion or planned distribution centers. It could easily mean tentative projects or future site acquisition.

If they currently have "too much space" per the CFO why in the hell would they continue to build out more? They are also now on a de facto hiring stoppage with significant layoffs coming. It does not take a brain surgeon to put two and two together.

It's amazing how so many on this board are self-defeatist.
Amazon is building the Cortana location to be a state of the art gem, one of the largest in the system, with a high degree of robotics.
If any centers need to be concerned, it would be the smaller, less efficient ones.
