District Donuts in Baton Rouge CLOSED??

I saw that it’s no more. What happened?
I went 5-6 times. Thought the coffee was good as were the biscuits. On second thought, it might have been the best biscuit in BR. Closest thing we had to Denver Biscuit Co.
What does it say about Town Center? Anything?

Town Center basically terminated the leases for a bunch of places because they're going to develop in into something else. Probably expensive condos.

They are changing that part of Towne Center into residential space.

WAFB Article
The Advocate Article
Town Center is moving all of the tenants out of that stretch connected to the vacant bookstore so they can tear the bookstore down and put up apartments.
They're moving Five Guys into where District Donuts was and Zea is going into the old Bonefish Grill location.
I'm guessing they raised everyone's rent as part of this revitalization and the businesses that didn't renew their leases are the ones being replaced by the tenants being forced to relocate.

I'm gonna miss the hell out of their iced vanilla latte

Yep it’s gone. Very sad.
I don’t see how they need more overpriced housing there vs thinning out the food options even more. Not a good look for Town Center.
How do the Bocage people feel about all of this?

If anyone wants I can ship them donuts from the NOLA spot. Not like 2 days shipping can dry them out any more than their same day donuts.

But the rest of us Normies who live in the area are particularly thrilled. That said, other than them were not losing any real decent choices

I lived in the Swaggart Towers after mine. $650 all utilities paid.
The good life.
