What guitar picks are you using? For Acoustic or Electric?
I typically use 0.60 mm Dunlop Tortex picks for my acoustic. They are inexpensive to buy and I like the thickness. Someone recently showed me a $40 pick made out of tortoise shell that is supposed to produce a better sound. I lose picks on a regular basis, so I'm not willing to drop that much on one just yet. Anyone else invest in nice ones?

I'm against picks for bass for the most part, but there are a few fast rock songs I use them on to get an edge and save my fingers a bit. I use the Dunlop.

Dunlop “ primetone” I believe. It’s 5 bucks for a pack of 3. That’s as high as I’ll go.

Petrucci Jazz III's. I will likely never play with another pick. They're a little bigger than a regular Jazz III and have a texturing for grip.

Used to use Cool grip picks until I changed my grip
Now it's Dava control with the rubberized grips those things are great but $10 for a pack of three or something ridiculous.
I also tried a $30 purple plectrum (huge arse custom made picks) and it's cool but I just can't get into it.

Dunlop tortex .73mm for electric, Fender thins for acoustic, though I may switch to the thinner Dunlops for acoustic. I can't imagine ever spending $40 on a pick.

I bounce between Herco Flex 75s (all around favorite), an assortment of V-Picks in a variety of thicknesses and shapes, Fender Mediums, and the yellow and green Dunlop Tortex picks. Just depends on what I'm trying to do or what feels comfortable at any given moment.
My V-Picks are not stupid expensive but they're not cheap either. My Herco picks aren't in any local stores. And I have in my arsenal some rare material picks, like coconut, longhorn antler and cattle hoof.
If you can keep up with your car keys, or your wallet, you can keep up with an expensive or rare pick. My clients who use those high-dollar BlueChip picks keep them in their wallet, or a little leather pick pouch on their key ring.

Usually use a Slick Pick thumb pick, but if I want to use a flat pick, I make my own picks for that. They are other worldly secret technology.

I’ve used Snarling Dog Brain picks for years. They have a great grip. Thickness is, of course, up to you.

Herco Flex52 Blue Thumbpick

Chicken Picks Regular 2.6mm on electric (use the "shoulder" not the point), Dunlop Primetone Semi-Round 1.5mm for acoustic.
