Giant Maniacal Otters? You’d be a fool to not be afraid of them.

Unavoidable.

Just hope cancer treatments get better before it's my turn.

No.

Without GMOs we would’ve starved by now.

No. In this house science is real (unless it's something we don't agree with).

Newsflash...every plant and animal we eat today is the result of GMO (cross breeding, selective mating, etc.)

After more than 20 years of monitoring by countries and researchers around the world, many of the suspicions surrounding the effects of GMOs on organ health, our offspring, and our DNA have been addressed and tested (Figure 1). In the data discussed above, alongside many more studies not mentioned here, GMOs have been found to exhibit no toxicity, in one generation or across many. Though each new product will require careful analysis and assessment of safety, it appears that GMOs as a class are no more likely to be harmful than traditionally bred and grown food sources.

Ask your professor to name a current species of plant we eat today that isn't a GMO.

Depends on the GMO... If it allows farmers to spray all kinds of pesticides, herbacides etc then I'm don't support them. Roundup ready plants is screwing down stream farmers, people, and animals.

If you want to talk about humans genetically modifying through selective breeding for hybridization strength then yes I support that. That is why the weed is so awesome these days and why we have many variations of dogs, horses, and other animals that we herd. Corn is also what it is these days through selective breeding as is wheat.

Concerned? Yes. Afraid? No. I am more “afraid” of chemicals, additives, preservatives, pesticides, etc. that makes it’s way into our bodies that have affects that are either unknown or under valued. I believe that the prevalence of the conditions and allergies we see today are the result of bioaccumulation from years of consumption. GMO’s are not inherently “bad”. If gmo’s can safely remedy world hunter or help the environment then great. As long as my children don’t come out with an arm growing out of their forehead or crippling autism as a result of the salmon tomato I ate one time, I’m good.

ETA-“hunger” not “hunter”
