He doesn’t respect basketball and contrary to popular belief he WAS NOT “protecting” football. It is bull shite and you know it.Kansa flipped off the NCAA as he should have.

This website is infested and moderated by a lot of Scotty’s high school alum and frat brothers. Make no mistake it will always be politics and Woodward is a political animal. Refreshing topic. The timing of the process has soured me on Woodward and will for a long time.
He fired him pre-NCAAT to make sure he didn’t make a run because firing him after a sweet 16 run would have been VERY unpopular, even with the majority of LSU fans who are basketball illiterate. this move did not buy us any goodwill with the NCAA. It was done solely for internal purposes.
No, Woody didn’t have to fire him. Woody Did not like him and was looking for any reason to get rid of him. Then when he did, instead of going “big game hunting” he made the lazy hire of the up-and-coming mid major coach. If this does not send a clear message to you as to what Woody thinks of the basketball program, then you have clearly not thought this all the way through.
Message could not have been clear, basketball needs to stay in his lane and not create problems for football.
He fired the coach with the best winning % in the last 80 years of LSU basketball. Hope MM can live up to that expectation, but don’t expect the AD to put much into basketball, he’s already signaled where he stands on the program.
