Brian Kelly said he's done the research on No. 7 and No. 18 and understands the history it holds, but he wants to leave it up to the team as to whether they give the jerseys out to guys this year.

Get rid of the 7 tradition and just do 18.

7 places an extraordinary amount of pressure on players.

Leaving it up to the team, but all of our overweight fans voice their opinion on the matter.

As part of the reboot, do away with these.

They’ve had their day.

Hopefully, the team realizes it’s dumb to give 18 to two players.

Your friendly reminder that the story of Mauck, a National title winning QB randomly “passing down” his jersey to a 2 star freshman fullback months after he declared for the draft is completely fabricated and everyone just goes along with it because it’s a nice story.

I don’t understand why some get so butt hurt about this. If the players like the tradition, then why do some get so bent out of shape?

OP, not talking about you necessarily. Just in general

18 should be reserved for a senior who sticks around and shows the true heart of lsu

Could care less about #7 anymore. Last few years have ruined it, starting with Giles

If the team decides to get rid of #7 that would be a good sign.

They should only be given to seniors.

7 needs to die a quick death.

18 can stick around but it needs to be earned by a junior or senior.

Love it. If it is significant to the players, keep it. Otherwise, dump it. It’s a quasi knock off of A&M’s tradition
