I spend the weekend watching college baseball then when I watch the majors I'm always amazed by the gap in skill from college to the majors.

Good Nola story:

I was coaching a 14-15 year old US Select team and Austin was on it. Very good player and I remember telling his dad how impressed I was with his actions and knowledge of the game.

His dad looked at me and said, if you think Austin has actions, wait until you see his younger brother. Even at 11 or 12 years old you could watch Aaron and just "know" he was coming!

Great family, great kids, awesome story. I love the Nola's.

Didn't see it either. Aaron might be 10 pounds over weight but that is nothing on his frame.

If I could throw like that, I'd look like Prince Fielder!

This is the ideal male body. You might not like it but this is what peak performance looks like

To be fair if you’re watching LSU you could find special needs church leagues with better fielding %s.

Its not even skill so much as consistency. College guys can throw pitches like that from time to time and hit 99 mph, but they cant do it 98 times out of a hundred within inches of their spot. It is ridiculous how dialed in MLB pitchers are.

Yes I’m proud to say that I’ve known the Nola family for years. I’ve lost count of how many Nola brothers there are exactly. One worked at the paper or maybe two, one or two working in roofing.

I wish there were more Nola brothers to play for LSU.

It's all in his lower body. It's an intentional bulk as his face and neck are still thin.
