Taking the commute into account. Are we looking at St Francisville or New Roads? Not thinking I-12 daily would be ideal so that takes some places out of the equation.

Depends on where you need to commute to in BTR. A few yrs ago I would have told you Zachary but we are slowly becoming Baker with the crime. Also, not enough goods and services to keep you from having to venture into BTR at times.

Subdivisions are exploding up here. You might be able to locate here and run when the loss of moral value increases to an intolerable level.

Out of St. Francisville or New Roads I would pick St Francisville. New Roads is alright if everyone knows your pawpaw or you inherited a ton of land, otherwise it kind of sucks.

the commute is fine, 40 miles of interstate

it backs up in the morning at DS but you can time it. Going home is a breeze

St. Francisville. Extremely easy commute into BR, except construction at 10/110 is going to frick that up. Only downfall is the thick arse country accent everyone has up there.

Its better to not have to cross the river. Therefore I say West Feliciana or even East Feliciana, maybe even unincorporated EBR. Its gonna come down to how rural you want to be or not with regard to amenities in the broadest sense of the word.

St. Franny all day. That area is one of the most beautiful parts of the state. (not trolling). For the downvoters, I'm talking about the hills and plantations and swamps, not the two redlights and little businesses that you see on 61.

BR bridge traffic is simply ridiculous. I don't give a shite how nice the place is, you're going to start to hate it simply because of the drive.

You'd honestly be better off moving to a completely new state than 40 miles from BR and having to drive into it.

I’d definitely make the move to St Francisville if I was planning to make a long commute and was just looking for the best long commute option

The Island Golf Course
The Island

There are houses for sale. There are two different parts. The larger houses are anywhere between $400k - $1.5M, but then you have another section where homes are around $260k or less.

If you scroll down and you see homes on Clift Cove Dr. Golden Shore Ave, etc that are new homes.
