Speaking of LOBs, has Berry really produced batting in the 4 hole in the SEC? I may be wrong but I dont think so. He has had many oppurtunites in 7 sec games. It's time for Dugas to get his spot(4 hole) back and maybe give Berry some better pitches to hit further down in the order. I mean Dugas has proven himself leading the sec last yr in RBIs. How does one not change the line up with this proven fact? Sorry for my 2nd post today being bored in my hotel suite, I have work in Chicago and can't watch in person.

Good luck Tigers tonight!

You don’t need to start a thread for everything that pops in your head.

I made 2 today, sorry sir. This is a discussion board no? It's not like I will have 80,000 posts in the future. That would mean I have no life.

Berry has a higher average, slugging percentage, and more RBIs than Dugas on the season.

You realize that Dugas has regressed mightily from last year right?

Now coaching may play a part there, but he hasn't done anything this year to warrant taking the 4 spot....at least Berry has flashed fairly consistent power.

You made me curious about this so I went back and look. I don't mind the lineup with Berry where he is.

Berry: 0.296/3rbi/7lob in 7 games played

Dugas: 0.188/3rbi/5lob in 5 games played.

This is in SEC play. I don't think Dugas has done enough to get there. He is hitting the ball harder lately though so I like that.

JJ seems to like going R/L/R/L in the order. If he were to move anyone in the 4 hole it would be Jobert

Jesus, didn't realize it was this bad tbh. I still think Dugas should have his spot back. Jmo.

If Johnson did this with Berry, imo, this is not good. I mean how does the lsu players accept this I'm wondering? He hasn't done anything special imo. He needs alot of work on defense and batting for Ave, rbis and hrs against good teams hasn't exactly been anything to write home about.

Nothing suggests that Dugas should be in the 4 hole, and it most certainly isnt HIS spot.

Dugas has been hitting the ball hard on some of his outs so it seems like he is doing better than he is. Same with Morgan. Berry hits them hard too.

Dugas struggled a lot in the fall and spring. Basically since Jay has arrived. May be to do with swing tweaks and approach that they were working on and he needed to get used to. Not really sure but he has been hitting it much harder lately.

Berry is the better hitter and should stay in the 4 spot. That isn't something that Jay promised Berry before coming here. Dude is a beast at the plate. Was last year and can't say it is because Arizona played less competition because he turned around and went play for team USA and was one of the top 2 hitters there against the best pitching in the country.

What about last year? He had 19 bombs and 70 rbi. He led ALL players in the SEC in rbis. What about being given his spot in game 1 ? He got bumped for someone who isn't even imo, special or anything. Stat wise Berry may average what, less than 20rbi in the SEC total based on 7 games so far. I hope not but i refuse to believe Dugas couldn't put up at least half of what he did last year if he had his spot back. He has been there in the sec not berry until this year. Jmo.

I appreciated your thread, though I disagree with it. Ell is one of those posters who believes he has a proprietary interest in the Board due to being Board Royalty. You can just ignore him.

Hard to get a hit when you are getting hit all the time.

That’s selective stats, Lester. Dugas is clearly playing worse this year than last. I’m a big advocate of Dugas, but this is undeniable. He has 19 HRs last year for crying out loud.

How many did he have 7 games into conference play?

He hit most of them in conference. I honestly don't know the distribution of them.
