Wheat and Rice prices about to skyrocket here in the USA

*non-sourced insider info warning*
Wheat bushels set to increase in price 175%
Potash fertilizer set to increase in price 200%
11 month worldwide rice supply down to 4 months
Why?
An issue of maxing out what we can produce vs population.
- Ukraine accounted for 20% of wheat exports.
- Russia, china, Belarus, and Ukraine account for over 50% of potash fertilizer
Makes you wonder if there is WAY more to this story

Ridiculous fertilizer prices will cause medium size farmers to plant less acres, also increasing prices due to less supply. Also expect older farmers to sell land.

What about malted barely and hops? Asking for a friend.

I don't trust anything in this post.
I can tell you firsthand that potash is a primary source of fertilizer material used at the downstream chemical plants at the refineries I go to regularly.
The vast majority of WORLDWIDE potash comes from Canada, specifically from the Saskatchewan region.
I will source a reference:

I could see wheat short term but not rice.
I doubt we will ever see $30 rice.

Good. Maybe we'll plant more rice, vice sugar cane, in Louisiana.

Louisiana has lost a lot of Rice production capability because the wells in SW Louisiana have grown more and more salty as the amount of water pumped has been to great for decades.

Agree with you. You're a goof poster, so it's not that I don't trust you.
But if they can get this fact about potash so grossly incorrect, I don't trust that there was any legitimate fact checking done at all.

You do realize that agriculture is a worldwide industry?
Yes, 85% of the potash in the US comes from Canada. However, if you take out the 2nd and 3rd largest producers, other countries will come into the market trying to buy Canada's supply.
Supply and demand is a real thing.
