Honestly saw the colts making a move for him until they traded for Ryan (which is a great deal for Indy). Only realistic options left would be Seattle, Carolina, Atlanta maybe or a dark horse like NYG. I think Baker is a solid QB when healthy, may not win you a super bowl but can get you to the playoffs with a solid team

Shows how the browns just pulled the trigger and figured baker would be an easy trade

I say he takes the Trubiski route and sits for a year or two to practice, learn, and mature.

i think he will go as a FA

teams know they have to get rid of him so no one is trading for him and giving up more then maybe one 3rd rnd pick for him if even that

if he gets released the saints should sign him because winston wont win shite here for us and will be a dumpster fire

They lose every single dollar of his comp against their cap in dead money if they cut him. So I highly doubt they do that. They'll just hold onto him as a backup and hope someone calls during the season.

I think he ends up in Miami with Tua on a short leash

I thought it was announced that he was going to Seattle. Cowherd was discussing it today.

Can't they just not sign him for the 5th year option or has that ship sailed?

All I know is that they are going to have to make a whole bunch of new, "At Home with Baker Mayfield" commercials.

And where would his ego go? No way he agrees to sit anywhere. He thinks way too highly of himself

There was an analyst saying that he may be in the twilight of his career because no one wants to bring him in to ride the bench because he will be a cancer. He said that he better consider going into broadcasting.

It would be awesome if the Browns say he's the backup but he'll be starting for as long as Watson is suspended.

They signed Brissett to be the backup.

Considering we just saw a team trade a proven veteran QB and leave $40M cap hit, I'd say $18M isn't completely unheard of even thought the 2 teams are in very different situations

Pittsburgh would seem like a good fit for Baker, but I doubt Browns would trade in division like that.

Depending what Browns would get in return for Baker (2nd?..I haven't heard much) then somebody like Tennessee or Miami make some sense since their starters aren't elevating their team.
Teams like Giants, Panthers, and Seahawks could also be options if they aren't in love with the rookie QBs and if the price for Baker isn't too high

I think he makes too much money to go be a backup, unless the starter is on a rookie salary. Somewhere like the Bengals or Chargers.

That being said, Carolina, Miami and Seattle need a starting QB. Chicago could use the QB competition to see if Fields can step up. Atlanta has the older version of Baker. Giants are an interesting spot; is Baker better than Daniel Jones?
