Dude is one of the most popular athletes and celebrities. He has an ego that I think he would take on the challenge. He loves LSU and his son plays. No doubt he could recruit. Could generate enough good will to offset the rage much of the fan base has for Wade’s firing. Everyone will support Shaq!

Ok when we hire Bob Smith from East Nevada University desert community college, support for the program is gonna fall off the map. But ok. I was suggesting a famous alum in the same vein as many other schools like Memphis and Michigan have done.

Howard had extensive coaching experience prior to being hired as Michigan's coach. Shaq does not.

The idea of Shaq coaching LSU makes no sense.. sure, he might do an ok job.. but he already has the BEST life, a fairly cushy schedule and has generational wealth.. hiring Shaquille would indeed make a huge PR splash, but then after a few days he’d have to grind it out in the high stress coaching world, and i just dont see him wanting to do that .
