It's amazing that SEC fans (I'm one of you) cannot wrap their minds around a dominant team in another conference. Michigan was dominant. Period. They deserve to be Champs.
It's amazing that SEC fans (I'm one of you) cannot wrap their minds around a dominant team in another conference. I watched Michigan's last four games when they dominated the best teams in the country one by one (including OUR best). Congrats to them. The earned it. They deserve it. 2019 was LSU's year. This was theirs. Kudos.

Why doesn't the SEC support soccer? And don't tell me soccer isn't a sport. Anyone who says that has never played.

Every SEC school has a varsity soccer team.

Check in if you’re done attending lsu games, specifically basketball

Do what you have to do -- but I really enjoy watching/attending games, so I lose if I stop doing it just to make a point.

But ok. I was suggesting a famous alum in the same vein as many other schools like Memphis and Michigan have done.

Howard had extensive coaching experience prior to being hired as Michigan's coach. Shaq does not.

Why not both?

Because both are full-time jobs. Coaches don't just show up on gameday, crack their knuckles and start drawing up plays. It's a job that requires total focus, not part-time employees.

My source said it was Tate that forced it…

I'm not saying you didn't hear this. But I AM saying that anyone claiming to have inside information in the LSU Athletic Dept. probably isn't 100% trustworthy. The university doesn't seem to be as "leaky" as did in the past

Tate wants him gone so they can hire a black coach

Care to share whatever information you have that backs up this claim?

They should be able to run off of the interest! It doesn't take Catholic High Math to figure out that 30,000 students at a minimum of $3,000.00 a semester is $90,000,000.00 coming in a semester plus donations!!!! Where does it go? Other than Coach O!

A few things: 1. That's not really how foundations work. 2. If it was, the interest would not come close to running the university. 3. LSU's annual budget is WAY more than $180,000,000/year 4. Where does it go? They have thousands of employees, a massive physical plant, and debt payments, to name a few expenses. 5. TAF paid Coach O.

It has to happen to save cfb.

I don't understand why everyone is so triggered by NIL. CFB is the same as it always has been. It's the same pipelines going to the same programs. If anything, this has a chance of creating some (much-needed) parity. Players can no longer afford (nor will they tolerate) being buried on an org chart. It will be better (from an NIL perspective) to start as a freshman at UCF than to warm the bench for 2 years at Alabama. This is a good thing.

Great, give an 18-20 year old $100K and see how things work out if he does not go to NFL and then has to get a real job.

Wealthy college students across the country are getting 100K from their parents all the time (totally unearned)and we're not worried about them. I'm fine if college students that don't come from money have an opportunity to earn 100K with their talent. If they blow it, it's none of our concern. It's their money.

What gives you the authority to determine what people should/shouldn’t get upset about? If he saw something he didn’t like and quit watching then good for him.

I don't have authority. Just posing a question and offering a different perspective.

There is 1 National Anthem. Hence the word…..NATIONAL. That’s why.

But they're still playing the national anthem. They didn't stop playing it. My point is...how on earth does it hurt you that they play a song that ALSO honors the history shared by most NFL players? If they switched them out...yeah. I get why you'd be upset. But playing them both shouldn't cause anyone to lose any sleep.

I stopped watching the NFL when it went woke and started playing the black national anthem before THE National Anthem. So I missed the Devin White GLS stuff.

Two things:
1. Your loss. The NFL is a great watch.
2. Why does it matter to you what they play before the game? How does that squash your enjoyment?

re: Transfer portal policy fix

Im personally all for a kid transfering if he or she wants, but if the rule was amended that if you transfer before your RS JR or SR year you had to sit a year I think it would cut down on all this indiscriminate transferring. What do you guys think?

This is interesting. I almost see it in the reverse: If a player joins a program that turns out to be a bad fit, pull the ripcord ASAP and get to a better place. If you stay, you understand that you're locked in and building toward a strong jr/sr class. I could probably make either argument...
quote:

Every major program is hemorrhaging players right now. The “transfer anywhere, anytime” rule is the worst rule change to ever be implemented to a major sport in America

Couldn't disagree more. It provides opportunities for players to make the best decision for themselves, based on their own experiences. Players who stay are invested in the program. Players who join via the portal are invested in the program. Players who leave weren't invested in the program. It provides clarity for everyone. Win-Win
quote:

That is what college football has become.

Maybe so...but that doesn't make it less fun to watch. As long as they're motivated to play, it doesn't matter to me why they're motivated.

The transfer portal is a cancer to CFB

Yes! It's awful that 19 year old kids get to change their mind about where they go to college.
quote:

They now play for the money and not the school.

I don't know where you work...but I'm assuming you do it for the money...and not the company? And that's OK! I'll bet you still do a great job!
quote:

The problem might might not be NIL. It could be the fact that kids can just transfer at will, almost. Bring back you have to sit for one year and this could help. You should definitely have to sit a year if you transfer inside conference.

I don't understand why people get so freaked out when players have some control over their own lives.
