Lukoil was $95 a few weeks ago, and is trading like 70 cents now. Certainly these are worth buying for option value, no?

Wasn't able to buy any, as a)not set up in London and b)looks like they are all halted (and that could be indefinitely)

LINK

I can understand the bank stocks really being down 100% - those could be actual toast.

I think this is a situation where most likely case is 0 but expected value is still wildly positive.

How are you going to do that? What is the underlying ticker so you can buy LEAPS in Lukoil?

RSX holdings

Lukoil makes up 1.2% of RSX. You can buy the calls or puts there.

Monday, someone put down $10 million on the April 15 puts with the RSX at $11. Since Monday afternoon, those puts have essentially doubled with RSX now at $5.66.

If you went for something short term and out of the money instead of ITM, like the weekly 8s, then those went for 40¢ Monday when paper hit to a high of $3.40 this morning

I see a play in selling puts as low as $2 if you are wanting to own it for a long term play.

When I looked, the 2 strike was at $48. So you would make the $48 at expiration or make the $48 and purchase 100 shares at $2.

Just a thought

I was able to buy 80 shares of Lukoy yesterday morning at about $13/share. I figured it’s worth a roll of the dice. I wouldn’t touch the banks though.

How? Are online brokers allowing it to be traded?

Doesn’t matter. Bought with the intent of holding for 10 years or whatever until all of this is a distant memory.

What platform are you using? TDA still has it locked down...

Bought it on Merrill lynch (BofA’s platform) early Wednesday morning. My friend tried to buy some on chase’s platform at the same time and couldn’t.

After I bought Lukoy, I tinkered with an order for one of the banks (had no intention of actually buying, however) but that was already blocked.
