I think we did once when he was a kitten but he wasn’t about it

he said the owners, not the actual cats which tends to be true

I don't have a cat, but my next door neighbor does and it keeps shitting in my yard. One of these days I'm going to bathe that cat. In the bottom of a lake.

no unless they get extremely dirt for some reason. the two i have now are 9 and 11. neither has received a bath in their life.
they are naturally fastidiously clean creatures.

Yeah, that's really fun. I had a cat with intestinal lymphoma that kept dribbling liquid shits on his tail and legs. He may have been lethargic but still worked enough energy to get pissed at me for cleaning him.
He was my best friend and would get up on the desk and gently lay against my mouse arm as I worked at home, keeping me company when my wife was at work. I'd clean his shite everyday if I could have him back alive.

Flea medications are to the point where there's rarely a need, but back in the day you'd have to near-submerge the cat in water/dip, which drove the fleas/ticks to the cat's head, where you could comb them out. A pain in the arse. Now your vet will give you drops that will drive away the fleas.

Adopted a Siamese cat a while back. It was pretty much just a Ferrell cat when the pound got it as a kitten. They socialized it a little and litter box trained it.
I love that cat as it never wanted to be held and is a mouse hunting machine. It hates my two kids though. When she hears them running down the hall it dive bombs under the couch snd doesn’t come out until they leave the room.

Our cat doesn't exactly hate our little boys, but she likes to sit on the stairs and take swipes at them about every 3rd or 4th time they walk by. I wouldn't say they are scared of her, but they have both gotten the claws enough to be leery around her

Cats smell good all on their own. No need to bathe. Unless you let it spend days at a time outside.

No desire to get shredded.

It may be a good idea to gently introduce baths in a calm way, in case the time comes were you NEED to bathe the cat. Because you will NOT have a good time if you try to bathe a grown cat with grown cat claws. Is it necessary though? Not really.

My Maine Coon, Toonces, loves a warm bath and scrubbing.
