Now post a map where NATO has their nukes.
ETA: Just because a country is in NATO doesn’t mean it has nukes. Nukes are in Germany, but not Poland for instance. Italy has nukes, but not Hungary.

How many wars have NATO countries started on other countries' lands? Too many to count.
If you list them, I'll gladly do the counting for you

Scandinavian countries are afraid of additional Russian encroachment.
Eastern European countries are afraid of being subjugated by a pseudo Soviet state that doesn't respect their territorial integrity or their culture.
Because that's what Russian military interventions have forced in Georgia, Chechnya, and Ukraine. There would arguably be no need for NATO except for the steady military expansions from Russia to regain former Soviet states. None of this excuses poor decisions by the United States to adventure abroad into theaters like Iraq.
On the contrary it should have taught both the United States and Russia to avoid military conflict where possible.
Pretty tidy summary of 1000 pages or so of what abouts.

So you think we should invade Cuba over this?
We would. And most here would support.

Ukraine joining NATO has been in the works since at least 2008.
But not from Ukraine. Polling indicated that even after Russia invaded in 2014, only 40% of the public supported it. They would have to vote to join
Have fun in your delusion

NATO's entire reason for existing dissolved when the Soviet Union did. Why is it even still a thing?
Wrong. It was also to keep the peace among member nations. Nary a conflict has broken out between any of them since NATO was formed

We won't invade Cuba because we aren't Russia and there isn't oil in Cuba.

Remember the story a month ago that the Pentagon had improperly valued the equipment from drawdowns, and that meant that there would be an additional $3 billion to give to Ukraine? Well, the bean counters have worked hard, and there's now room to give Ukraine a lot more equipment.

BREAKING: The Pentagon provided an update on this story. The total overvaluation of equipment sent in PDA packages is $6.2 billion! They are dubiously claiming this didn't impact the size of those packages, but regardless, it still means that more equipment can be provided.

If they set the value of used stuff at estate sale prices, they can free up more room.

That was more of a side effect of the alliance, not it’s a purpose.

It's right up front in Article 1 of the charter.

Looks like it just refers to the United Nations but I’ll cède the point.

That map shows us having a base in Hong Kong. Do we have a base in Hong Kong?
The map shows active deployments not bases. There's not much difference IMO.

need to add China to those maplocations.... we have marines at our embassy......

Just spitballing but I would imagine it’s a marine security unit for a US consulate

So a non-deep dive look into this question yields this.. only US troops in Hong Kong are part of the US Consulate
