The resilience you speak of has always stood out when they were invaded and they were threatened.

This is not the case now. They are the aggressors and you have to know many Russians are asking why?

specifically that Russia has the capability to push to Odessa.

That is what Col. MacGregor was saying AFTER the bridge at Kherson was blown.

Let's face it, early on Ukraine was able to make raids on the Kherson airport months before the counteroffensive which retook it occurred. Russia never had enough forces to take Odessa after their extension to Kherson.

South Korea stepping up

quote:

South Korea will give the US half a million 155-mm shells to replace those that the Americans supply to Ukraine from their own warehouses. The law prohibits South Korea from exporting weapons to countries at war, but such a three-way scheme does not fall under the law, and will allow the United States to supply shells to Ukraine much more freely.

Great interview yesterday by Glenn Greenwald

Lmao. Yea let’s listen to one of the biggest apologists/ denialists for China. If / when china were to invade Taiwan, Greenwald would be bloviating hysterically about it was avoidable and we forced china’s hand. He makes Noam Chomsky look like Paul Wolfowitz

The russian's didn't embed their dragon's teeth into the ground, they are just sitting on top of the ground.

Watch this video

We also saw this with the recent incursion into the Belgorod region, the rebellious Russians, just moved them out of the way.

I didn’t realize the Challenger II had already made its operational debut in Ukraine. And as a blade tank none the less.

Unmanned defenses are useless and Russia doesn't have enough men at the front to cover every mile.

In WW2, the Germans used them quite effectively with the primary difference being the Germans embedded them 1 to 1.5 meters into the ground so they couldn't be pushed and had to be destroyed.

A few of them are just people without relatives elsewhere to take care of them, and they are simply scared to leave behind everything that they have and everything that they have known.

But most of them are Russian sympathizers who want their homes to be in Russia. When it comes to the territories along the front lines, what I have read several times is that 60% of the population in these areas is firmly for Ukraine, 20% is pro-Russian, and 20% truly does not care

Yeah, I know there are various reasons why people would stay behind. I just can't believe there are that many. 10K just seems like an extraordinary amount considering the total destruction that has taken place there.

It just really blew my mind to think there are so many people not fighting trying to scrape by in such harsh conditions. It's incredibly sad.

Russia does have strong EW capabilities, I've read commentary that they have one EW unit per 10KM of front inside of Ukraine.

There is a side effect of that...

https://twitter.com/wartranslated/status/1661508713981571073
quote:

Russian "Veteran's Notes" channel describes a problem preventing Russians from using counter-battery fire near borders - there's too much Russian EW which suppresses Russian drones (mavics) preventing artillery adjusting. Meanwhile, Ukrainians are switching to other frequencies en masse to bypass Russian EW.

I think people are still underestimating their resilience as a people, they're not going to quit, and the West will lose their appetite for this conflict long before Russia does. As far as I how I see it ending, it's really hard to say, most likely a stalemate of sorts.

I think you are underestimating the West here. Everything about this portends a long-term, decades long conflict, with the Russians rebuilding after this unless something changes. Resilience as a people doesn't mean very much when there are other structural issues, namely a top down authoritarian structure which limits creativity and incentivizes a sort of selfishness that leads to corruption. The result of that is a fairly large technology gap.

The youtuber Perun has a some great videos on this, specifically this one LINK.
