Well duh, pull the hammer back and let it slam into the firing pin. They could just look at an old cowboy movie.

Ah yes, I surely hope the effects of movies is being used as evidence in court.

It's not a movie effect. Its called a slip hammer. Cowboys modified their guns to fire with just hitting the hammer and releasing it. I can't see how this helps Baldwin if he's filming a Western.

Irrelevant, he was holding it and aiming it.

Nothing he is packing is as big as his mouth.

I don't know about him, but his trigger finger has quite a bit.

Why is a DA doing an interview in Vanity Fair and saying dumb shite that is harmful to the case? She had one of her Investigators bring in a gun and they played with it? So what? What a pack of idiots.
Unofficial test? It's official when you talk about it in an interview. It's like they are giving Baldwins lawyers an out.

The DA said she asked an investigator in the case to bring their own revolver and conducted an unofficial test with two independent inspectors who made sure the gun was empty.

He must have some info about someone

Nothing will happen to Baldwin. One or more of the little people (the armorer and/or the assistant director) will take the fall and do some time in prison.
Baldwin's only worry is the civil suits which could bankrupt him but he's probably been busy hiding his money and assets so he will be fine.

Weren’t they filming at the time? Or did the footage magically get lost?

Dude is a damn wreck. A train wreck.
And it couldn’t be happening to a nicer fella. Although of course I wish it weren’t at the cost of innocent life. But karma is visiting him and he’s damn sure earned it.

Accidental death is still a manslaughter charge?

How many were actually shot in the 1000s of old cowboy movies? How could they get this so wrong.....

He's a liberal celebrity. His pull is unlimited

Did the person who accidentally killed Brandon Lee get charged? I understand it's a witch hunt right now because it's Alec Baldwin and he impersonated Supreme Leader Trump on SNL but it was an accident and he had no idea the gun was loaded.
I mean, it's not like he was walking down the street with an AR-15 looking to shoot protesters.

I thought they just kept the trigger held down and would slap the hammer.
Would achieve the same thing.
I know we all want to Blame Alec because he mocked dear leader. But the blame lies on whomever had a loaded gun on the movie set. (The armorer)

If this was an episode of the old T.V. show, Detective Columbo's plot twist would be to question whether the shooting was even an accident,
"I got tell ya, Mr.Baldwin, your story puzzles me, was there any trouble between you and this young lady?"

This is the correct answer. Baldwin is an SJW, which is ironic, since he is using his whiteness as a shield from punishment.
As long as Baldwin continues to spew hatred towards those Americans who don't agree with his politics, the media will protect him.
