I completely agree with Cam. If he goes into TV I wish him luck. If he goes coaching for another team in the next couple of years then frick him. It was all planned out.

Hopefully the team will play harder for a coach that didn't quit on them.
Not sure why they’re on down votes on this.. I appreciate what Payton did. But he pretty much did quit on this group to sit a year or two and go somewhere else.

Pretty sure Payton lost his 1st wife because he was banging Angela Swords. Not because of New Orleans.

Love coach, will always love him....BUT....Dude went out like a bitch, STR8 quit.
Will coach Dallas in 23 after he fails TV gig.

FWIW it really wasn't all that long ago that another Saints DE was murdered in the Lower Garden District. If I'm Cam, I'm asking SP where he's headed and getting my agent on the phone.

Bottom line, he lost one wife who didn’t want to live in New Orleans. He wasn’t going to lose a 2nd wife for the same reason. As much as it sucks, I can’t really blame him for that.
But whatever. If she's calling the shots, then he's going to crash & burn wherever he ends up next. And I almost hope it is Dallas so he can achieve the exact same level of success that McCarthy has there.

If you’re rich like Payton, you don’t live anywhere near danger, in any city

Some people think just because Payton brought the Saints to relevance (with major help from Brees) that we need to smile and just be happy he was our coach. The reality is the hot girlfriend just realized she could do better and broke up with us, but we are supposed to smile and just be thankful she paid us any attention at all.
This board will be epic in two years when Payton is named the Cowboys coach

People acting like Sean Payton has an exclusive right to feel a certain way. Guess what, Cam has the right to feel like his head coach quit too. It's not one sided.
It's so frickin stupid when people start saying it's their right to do anything. That's a given. It's just some dumb thing people use to avoid discussion and end arguments.

It's been a long time, and I'm not sure any of us really know the true reason, but the I thought the thinking was that the first marriage ended because of his 'alleged' flings.

Payton is a pill popping liberal cuck. He could give a shite about NOLA crime.

and if you are looking for CSP's balls you will find them conveniently tucked in his wife's purse.
This.
And IMHO, the way that he left suddenly and with no advance notice can reasonably be interpreted by the players and the fans as a "I'm not done with coaching but I'm done with you, F U and Peace Out."

I think they all took it personal.
I respect what he did for the saints but he isn't retiring.

Apparently some others here took it personal too. Maybe the guy just straight up wanted a change after over a decade at the same place of employment?
That aside, it's hard to deny New Orleans is a fast descending, crime infested dump. Point the finger and Cantrell if you wanna blame someone.

He could go live in metairie right across from the facility and not have to deal with any car jackings.
I think it is about more than just the crime in the city.

I don’t mind if he goes back to coaching as long as it is not Dallas. Then it feels planned
