The problem is people NOT in the “at risk” category took it and got injured or died unnecessarily.
Most of the folks who died unvaxxed had multiple co-morbidities. They should have chosen the vax.
That should have been the strategy all along. Talk to your doctor. If you have risk factors, discuss getting the vax. It would have been MUCH more effective.
But instead they went all authoritarian. In this country, NO ONE should die because the government forced them to do something.

My favorite tipping point was the "we never said the vaccine would keep you from getting covid" one. The other stages are inevitable at this point, it's just a matter of when.

I'd settle for a simple admission that vaccines are not the "way out of this."
Israel is all the proof we need, you can throw all the shots you want out there, but this ain't going away.
The vaccine should be an option for everyone, if they want it. Available at their doctor, not at every damn corner.
