I'm pretty sure he floated that rumor back in 2019. I will believe it when I see it.

Meaningless if the Mouse ain’t making money. And by all accounts, they aren’t making shite. Not even kids give enough of a shite about the ST for a decent selling toy or Lego line. Mando is killing their abortion of a trilogy. If the Mouse wants the SW cash, they’ll either pretend the ST doesn’t exist by ignoring it entirely or will let it die out before rebooting.

My guess is it won’t be a movie reboot but a soft reboot through Mando style shows before an attempt:

- Quote from George Lucas in 1981 that seems somewhat relevant.

I remember when the rumor was Disney was going to redo the prequels!!

This isn’t happening. They have found a loop hole on how to give us awesome Luke stuff though.

Isn't Kathleen Kennedy still in charge? Hard to believe that this is a possibility unless she's gone.

This. The Heir the the Empire trilogy would have been amazing and set a world with multiple off shoots.

I also think it was the absolute worst decision to erase Mara Jade.

Probably because she was in that awful Star Wars fighting game.

The worst part of all of this is that there happens to be an insane number of great books that they could have used.

I also think it was the absolute worst decision to erase Mara Jade.

I don’t mind them casting aside the books, there was a lot of inconsistencies and conflicting storylines there.

They are doing the right thing the last 2-3 years by picking and choosing the right characters to pull into the canon universe and making them fit properly.

What annoyed me most was that Episode 7 was solid enough to set up Rey just like Knights of the Old Republic 2 where Rey was a catalyst to force sensitive people. She couldve influenced Fin AND Poe with her powers and added to the whole Force "awakening" angle. And they took a dump on it with ep 8

Just my fan boy opinion

I had that game on PS1. It was not-so-good but fun.

Simply bc of the money spent and the how it’s already engrained into the parks this won’t happen as much as I’d love it to

They won’t have to change much at Galaxy’s Edge in Hollywood Studios. Drop the Kylo Ren and Rey costumes and repaint some things and you’re done. With the facade/environment. Now Rise of the Resistance would be a pain in the arse, but the guts of the ride don’t have to change.

The only good thing was using a Gameshark to see Leia topless.

Doomcock needs a win. Don't know if he'll ever get credit though, even if its true. I think he's being played by someone at Disney. Played like a fiddle, and it's already taken a toll on his reputation.

Yeah right. And what about that brand new amusement park that only featured sequel characters?

I think the best hope and the direction for SW is to introduce stuff like the EU did after RoTJ and do so long enough that most will forget about the last 3 movies and send the universe down a path away from the Skywalker arc except bits and pieces like we saw in the latest episode of BoB.

I do not know why Lucas likes Kennedy as mush as he does. The real problem though was Lucas in all of this. He created a movie in A New Hope and then 2 more as kids flicks and he even stated that. But the movie appealed to all ages and gained a cult following. He decided to leave it at that but allowed others to continue on with the story through books, comics, and other story lines that by the time he decided to come back the galaxy and the characters involved had grown over a million times. I think once Disney got involved and Kennedy they realized they had no way to catch the story up and decided to change it to basically create a clean slate so it would be easier moving forward. That did not bode well.

Now Disney via F&F are rolling back and using what made SW the franchise it is now. Not the original trilogy but the EU that gave it so much depth and introduced so many characters and arcs. It is so rich with stories that they for years could continue on with story lines based on the EU they would go into the next generation of fans with new movies and put the last 3 behind.

In the end give me series like the ones coming out now every year and a Rogue One type movie every 3 years and I will be content.

Would love to see it because the ST ruined SW for me but I doubt it will happen. Would love to be wrong.
