I laughed when I read this OP.

I literally do this to annoy my wife when we go places. She locks the door and I press the lock button at least three more times as we walk away. She hates it.

I'm in California this week for work. I click my car 56 times just to be safe.

Someone with serious anxieties would likely do this.

I don't recall ever witnessing this.. Or maybe it was just so unimportant to me I didn't remember it.

Same reason people always have to “click click’ every single time we pick up a set of retractable tongs. It’s just what we do.

Extra clicks makes sure the thieves hear the locking beep and move on to someone else.

If you click it more than three times it's a sign you're lookin' for a gay hookup.

People are crazy.

I just have a touch sensor on my door that I touch when I get out and it locks the doors.

ETA: I had an ex-girlfriend that used to pull the handle on her house door 3 times every time she left her house to be sure that it was locked, it was some ritual bullshite because she was OCD.

My truck sometimes has a delay. I usually click twice as I walk away. 1st locks it, 2nd chirps the horn so I can confirm. Sometimes it doesn't seem to work, so I'll double click again, but it did work it's just delayed and now I clicked 4 times and there are now 3 horn chirps .

Sometimes the first 4-5 clicks don't properly lock the vehicle.
