What was your worst high school loss?

Son’s high school team played a nationally ranked team with two 5 stars and a three star last night and got beat by 48. It was actually amazing to watch that level of play and athleticism. 7 footers in high school is wild and he wasnt the best player in floor.

We had a baseball game where about 30 minutes before the game against one of the best teams in the state in our classification our senior pitcher who was supposed to start was nowhere to be found (he was buying drugs in nearby town) so coach threw a freshman out there. Second inning the opposing coach comes over and asked if we wanted to keep playing and coach said no. I don’t even remember the score but it was already in the 20-0 range.

20-1 John Curtis beat Woodlawn at Woodlawn in 1990.
Tough way to end your season.

Never had a bad loss in high school. Largest margin of loss was 11 and we avenged that loss later in the playoffs.
Worst loss I ever had is an easy one. In 13-14 Dixie Boys we had a team that was all 13 and played a team that was all 14 and DUDES. We lost 45-9 in 3 innings. In a baseball game. 45.

I would say this is more a personal loss than team loss.
I was 18, playing OT at around 215 pounds, after a lung surgery. Before the lung surgery, I was a CB transitioning to LB. I was not very good. I wouldn't usually get run over, but it's not like I could hold a block at that size against anyone talented.
We were playing one of the Baton Rouge schools, not quite sure which. They had a DE that was getting recruited at a national level, big, long, strong. Well most of the game, we stalemated, not because I was good, but I could cut block extremely well and they weren't running to my side, so business decisions were occurring ha.
Well the Tight End was on my side, and he said some racial shite to this dude, and that guy was pretty hype about murdering the TE. Unbeknownst to me, the TE was then motioned to the other side of the line, leaving just me and this extremely pissed off, extremely good DE.
Well, he literally picked me up and threw me about 2 yards backwards. I think the wind was blowing, but I'm not sure how much it aided my flight. The entire crowd saw this, and you just hear this grown and then laughter. It was then I decided that if, for whatever reason someone was stupid enough to offer me a scholarship in football, I would hang up laughing.
Tl:dr a dude picked me up by my chest plate and threw me like a shot put.

From the first three seasons, the worst I remember was either to Notre Dame of Crowley in my freshman year (42-13, a rematch in the playoffs after getting stomped at their house earlier that season) or Riverside in the playoffs my junior year (42-7).
The last one in particular was a heartbreaker because it was the best team we ever had and we had only lost to Riverside by one score the previous season after leading most of the game.
I try to block out my senior year for numerous reasons between injury and a major drop off in team performance.

1985 my 1A football team unexpectedly backs into the playoffs with a 4-6 record at the #32 seed.
On Monday five of our seniors (all starters on our 20 man team) skip practice to celebrate their Senior Ring day ceremony. Coach is pissed and kicks them all off the team.
So that Friday we travel down to #1 ranked Boothville Venice with our 15 players and get our asses completely kicked 69-0. Fun times.

Probably my entire junior year of baseball . We went 2-21 that season. Won both games on the same night in a tournament early on in the season in March. Sad thing is we competed in a lot but just couldn’t close them out
I do remember putting up 10 runs against Avoyelles but still losing. Final was 20-10 ??

Somewhere in the range of 66-6 against Istrouma during my senior year (2005).
Looking back, how the hell did little Live Oak (at the time) get put in 6-4A with Istrouma, Glen Oaks, Belaire, Baker, Scotlandville, etc? Needless to say it was massacre after massacre week in and week out.

I dont know about mine. But man i felt bad for team we played in state this year. I do IT work for a school district, and help with football. We made it to the state championship this yr. We were the best team in our classification all yr. We get to state and are just getting outplayed all around. Down 7 at half.. they are driving inside red zone to go up 2 tds. We knock ball loose and return it for td. We go for 2 and go up 1.... so keep in mind, we are down 7 at half, and in 2nd half we have 7 total yards of offense, 0 first downs. And here it is end of game we are up 1. 3seconds left, they have the ball on the 2, 4th down
And the kick is wide left by a hair, we win. To make it worse for that team, we were playing on college field, so goal post more narrow. Had we been on a hs field, it was good. Was happy for our kids, but man that one will stick with those kids a while

Don’t remember scores but Adrian Peterson rushed for about 600 yards in 2 games against us Sophomore and Junior years.

Whoa. No shame in that.
One guy last night is mocked as number 3 player in NBA draft 2 years from now. Told my son he may be able to tell his kids he played against him

Confernce game, both of us unfeated, winner would take it all and go to state.
Opponents win the toss, take the ball and drive down to our 30. They try a pass to the edge and our corner misses what would have been a Pick 6 and the air goes out of the balloon and we lose 50-0. We finish in second place at 8-1.
We got our revenge however by beating them so often they dissolved the conference 5-7 years later to get rid of us.

I remember playing a conference series my junior year of high school and winning by 20 in game 1 and losing by 20 in game 2. It was the weirdest set of games I’ve ever played in. Neither team was drastically better than the other but in both games it was like one team was just cursed.

Mickey Johnson did something similar to me in High School except he wasn’t mad at all, and honestly seemed liked he was bored while knocking me back 7 yards behind the LOS

By 15 in the King Cotton Tournament Alonzo Mourning hurt us and hurt us bad
Lost by 10 to Springfield Kickapoo in a homer game. We got jobbed everywhere in that game. Somehow we won the Tulsa tournament vs Booker T after we got jobbed for a full half.
My SR year my school won Overall State Championship so we were pretty good. Had a streak of not losing a home game for 7 years.
In football Forrest City got us bad I think by 28. We were the black homecoming game. They had 2 homecomings each year
