whatever happened to your grandfather’s ranch in texas? is it still in the family?

Isn't his other kids in their 50s and 60s? I know they are old enough they could be that kid's grandparents.
Him leaving everything to the kid does that mean maybe he didn't have as much as people might have assumed, to leave?
Or was it the easiest thing to do? So that means the wife gets nothing or does she just not get what he "legally" owned?
I can't help but think he had a collection of cash, but then it wouldn't be that easy. It would have to be cleaned depending on how its used.

nless the “mental illness” part is a factor, forced heirship only comes into play if the kid(s) is/are under the age of 24.
Art. 1493. Forced heirs; representation of forced heirs
A. Forced heirs are descendants of the first degree who, at the time of the death of the decedent, are twenty-three years of age or younger or descendants of the first degree of any age who, because of mental incapacity or physical infirmity, are permanently incapable of taking care of their persons or administering their estates at the time of the death of the decedent.

This is one absolute bullshite theory that the OT loves to propagate. It makes posters feel good to point the finger at a figurehead, especially for Republicans. Like "That Damned Democrat Did it! Damned Huey and Edwards!"
Lawmakers and lobbies ruined our state. Nothing more nothing less.

This.
Huey actually move the start further away from living in the 19th century. He did have a positive impact on infrastructure and education. Sure, he was a complex man and he still ran the state when he was a US senator and the other side thought he had too much power (which he did), but it is dumb to say Huey is the reason Louisiana is a shite hole.
He actually improved the state. I can understand maybe not agreeing how he got a lot of things done and thinking he had more power than he should, but he was a good politician. That's what good politicians do.
And I am not sure how Edwin Edwards played a big role in making the state a shite hole. Like Huey Long, he was a very good politicians (when I say good politician I mean a politician who knows how to get what they want. What they want might not be "good", I am just referring to their ability to get what they want).
He was governor at a time when the oil and gas industry hit rock bottom and since that's a huge part of La. economy the start wasn't in good shape, but that had nothing to do with anything he did.
Both were popular governors, which is why state history focuses on them more than other governors, but some of you people forget how government works.

You misspelled “Leander Perez.”
My grandfather’s grandfather used to run everything in Plaquemines in the early 1900’s around WW1. His family owned quite a bit of property and he was the judge, jury and executioner. One day he went fishing and never returned. The following day(s), Leander Perez took over.

EWE lead the convention which write the current constitution.

Wrong, oil and gas were doing great when he was first elected and didn’t decline in his first right years. EWE squandered numerous opportunities to do good when the state had money, but instead he did good fir himself and his friends..

My wife's grandfather was Perez's entertainment man. He told some interesting stories.
