I had a childhood friend that had a “pet” that “probably” escaped from the Primate Center (late 70’s).
On another occasion, I went to get the newspaper from the drive and saw my neighbor getting hers. She looked perplexed. I ask her what was up and she said she must not be feeling well, that she had jest seen a monkey in a tree behind her house. It was mid 1990’s. I called the my friend in law enforcement and he confirmed that there had been an escape.
Funny stuff.
