I bought my house in the Summer of 2020 for $321,900
It was a new build in a brand new neighborhood.
It's 3,000 square feet with 5 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms.
I just looked at our developers current listings and they have a 1,650 square foot, 3 bedroom, 2 bath house for $324,900.
Holy shite.
This is why Raising Canes should not be building houses.

What DR Horton hood are you in?
You arent building a custom house for $110 sqft, even several years ago
Even several years ago custom builds were $150-175 at least

Nice! Looks very similar to my Housekeeper's house.

There are quite a few new developments around that are starter homes and are listed at 330k and higher.
There is not one thing you could explain to me that would make a valid reason why a starter home should even be close to that price
If it’s in most of southern LA - you can easily get an older house in a decent neighborhood with mature trees for that price. And have plenty left over for renovations.

we have more in common than you even know. I can’t stand cookie cutter new neighborhoods. Give me the 1980’s fixer upper with good bones and in a reputable neighborhood with good surrounding schools.

I just got outbid on a house that ended up going $100k over asking price. Market is crazy.

he’s definitely in a cookie cutter on a small lot.
regardless, there is a difference between what you could get in Texas vs Louisiana and other states for $350k-450k 5 years ago. In Texas that would get you a mini mansion on decent lot if you didn’t mind living outside of city limits

What kind of tiny rooms do you have? We have 3,200 square feet and that's only room enough for three bedrooms and three full baths in the main house. The other two bedrooms are upstairs in the pool house, with another full bath upstairs and a pool shower/bath downstairs.
How can you morally have a home with some much room and amenities? You could have bought a house for half that much and spent the rest of the money helping achieve racial equity.

You here to brag about a $322K house?

You can’t afford a house

The farm house we live in now is less than 1800 sf. Come August, it will just be my wife and I so no big deal. I'd rather trade sf of living space for my barn, shop, woodworking shop and metal working/fabrication shop. Plus sheds for tractor, mower, side by side, 4 wheeler, fishing boat and jet skis and 5th wheel camper.
Acres>house sf
We are only in the house when the wife is home for work and I'm done doing whatever it is I do that day.
I can't troll anyone with your barn life dude
