The purported 'evidence' that the world is flat is misinformation. Misinformation presented as fact sounds believable only if you are ignorant or low IQ enough to accept presented information as fact without doing investigation on your own.
A flat Earth rebuttal is on the most basic level just one of the thousands upon thousands of photographs that are available that shows the coverture of the Earth from a high altitude, being genuine. That's it. If one photo shows that the Earth is spherical in shape, that negates all of the flat Earther's arguments.
So, you should believe things. But, only after you do enough research to form an opinion. It's up to you to discern what is truth and what is not.
Ultimately, reality is: what a person chooses to believe or is forced to accept.

There are a million examples of things i have not personally seen or heard, that did indeed occur throughout history.. the answer to what ails America is CRITICAL THINKING, and there is precious little of that currently .
But honestly, things we are taught as facts for years, sometimes turn out to be either completely false or one sided spin. And with the way the MSM is currently mostly propaganda , knowing fact from fiction is hard to determine.

There is such a vast amount of information and misinformation on the internet that you can find something to support any belief.

It’s a sad time when both the media and our gov’t officials are constantly misinforming us.
What if I told you it's always been this way?
Think about it, each point in history have been considered "modern times" by the people living in it.
Here's a quote from over 150 years ago: "You have heretofore read public sentiment in your newspapers, that live by falsehood and excitement; and the quicker you seek for truth in other quarters, the better." - WT Sherman
Also, for all of those believing that what's happening with the COVID these days is unprecedented...
"More than a century ago, as the 1918 influenza pandemic raged in the United States, masks of gauze and cheesecloth became the facial front lines in the battle against the virus. But as they have now, the masks also stoked political division. Then, as now, medical authorities urged the wearing of masks to help slow the spread of disease. And then, as now, some people resisted.
In 1918 and 1919, as bars, saloons, restaurants, theaters and schools were closed, masks became a scapegoat, a symbol of government overreach, inspiring protests, petitions and defiant bare-face gatherings. All the while, thousands of Americans were dying in a deadly pandemic."
Just remember this: The more things change, the more they stay the same.

You can determine truth with critical thinking. The evidence is hard to get because it's not in the MSM.
But you can research it.
It goes like this:
The CDC says 'X' is true and publishes evidence.
The critique is published showing that 'X' is not true because CDC evidence is false for reasons 'a' 'b' and 'c.'
The CDC response is .......silence.
My opinion becomes 'X' is false.
But you can research it.
It goes like this:
The CDC says 'X' is true and publishes evidence.
The critique is published showing that 'X' is not true because CDC evidence is false for reasons 'a' 'b' and 'c.'
The CDC response is .......silence.

Only it's rarely that simple. It's more like:
The CDC says 'X' is true and publishes evidence.
The critique is published showing that 'X' is not true because CDC evidence is false for reasons 'a' 'b' and 'c.'
The CDC response is published critique failed to take into account L, M, N, O and P.
Published critique response is that it's because elemenopy is irrelevant.
CDC then says they are relevant because 1, 2, and 3.
Published critique disputes CDC response.
My opinion becomes there simply isn't enough data to draw conclusions with an acceptable confidence factor.
Most of the time 'experts' simply don't know. But they're not paid to not know, they're paid to know, so they end up having to say something that may or may not be true.

History is a shortening of the phrase "high story". It's a fairy tale told by those with the loudest voice over the longest time (not necessarily the victors). Everything that you "know" that isn't a study from a primary source, or personal experience, is a lie of some sort; whether flat-out falsehood or a series of compounded white lies.

Only because most "experts", authorities, etc. Lie...a lot.

This is important because it is impossible to make educated decisions without all of the information
Believe it or not, you don't need all information to make good decisions ("educated", maybe)...
Wisdom is the attribute that bridges the gap. Hone your wisdom and you won't need limitless information.
quote:
I don't know whether I'm coming or going anymore,
Count on time flowing one direction (for now)...make good decisions based on past experiences based on that.

and nothing I find on the internet will clear things up
First step to improving Wisdom...srsly tho...go to where information can get a fair shake, it will improve its quality.

Kinda more a murky truth...but I'm a glass half full guy...
The further from the present (either direction), the parabola of accuracy bends away from truth.

Make the best sense of it you can with the information you can get. Then move on with your daily life as it's the only thing you really have control over.

Well you have to believe something. Just make sure that it’s something you research and take your time with and set bias/pride aside.
Take the vaccine for example.
I’m not anti vax. However.. I had many reasons to wait and see what happens with the current one. I don’t give a frick what trump or Biden or fraudchi says because I have gone deeper than any MSM will.
I’m glad I waited and did my own research because you see how the narrative is crumbling by the day.

It's not simple but it works. Scientists do peer review all the time. We called these 'critique wars.'
One side always wins. It's the side with the logical responses that their opponent gives up and quits on.
The reason he gives up is because he is wrong.
The media doesn't cover any of this. They just continue repeating assertion 'X' because they know the public is not paying attention to the debate.

Let me help. If the attack you and not your position, then you are probably right.
If they silence you then you are probably right.
If the leftist globalist say it then it is probably wrong.
