Stinky work out clothes

My shirt is soaked when I finish working out. It gets washed when wife does the rest of the wash.
When they are clean, they don’t stink. About 20 minutes into my workout, I start to get a faint rotten egg odor. It’s not overwhelming, but I notice it.
I’m getting some new workout shirts. I’m not trying to save the old ones. I want to know if I just have to immediately wash workout gear or if there is some sort of easy treatment that will bridge the gap to the normal wash schedule, or if I just have to wash immediately after use (my shirt is drenched with sweat after my workout).

Toss them in the shower when you get home and rinse when you shower then let them air dry.

First, always take them off ASAP and let them air dry.
Second, I found a detergent that works pretty well at keeping the old stinky gym shirt at bay. Rocking Green. Once a quarter or so I take all of my gym clothes and wash them in a really hot cycle that adds a soak with Rocking Green. Haven't had stinky shirts since.

Probably got some mildew odor in it. Soak/wash with vinegar. Google it.

I had a hat I was using to do work outside do this on me. My wife washed it on the sanitize cycle with a little bleach and it got rid of the problem.

When I was doing a lot of endurance training, everything was soaked through after a workout. Vinegar worked the best, but still wasn't perfect. All my clothes had a hint a stank. The best thing I did was just jump in the shower with clothes on and rinse the sweat out immediately.

I leave mine in the backyard in the sun and rain for a couple weeks. Then wash a bunch all at once. The sun will kill anything.

This. White distilled vinegar. Mix 1:1 with water.
Soak your feet in it too. Will kill athletes foot and other fungus.

I’ll pre soak in vinegar for about an hour. It breaks the stink particles down enough so that the detergent can flush em out.
Apple cider vinegar is less pungent and works well

Will soaking different color shirts in vinegar fade the colors at all?

If it does it with new clothes get a new washer. Your current one isn’t deep cleaning the fabric enough

I’m assuming that it’s Dri-fit? Those suck.
Give me a cotton tee any day of the week.

This. Dri-fit retains the stank.

soak them in borax, washing powder, and tide power. In hot water, for 4/5 hours while moving them around every so often. it's disgusting how much shite comes out of the clothes.

There is a product called Funkaway that works very well.

I would say lets them air dry before tossing them in the hamper. If things start getting piled up, you're going to introduce mildew into the equation.
