Had 2-3 good games as a freshman and one terrible one. Offense was so good the defense could take chances. That said I don’t blame him for protecting his future. If lsu would have been in hunt last two years I bet he would have been out there. We missed some great plays but at least other guys got experience

Lot of potential. Just didn't pan out after his first year. Honestly, we wasted his two non freshman years by just sucking. It was what it was. He stuck it out, wasn't a cancer (that I know of), didn't try to transfer, etc. I wish him luck.

He played hurt as a sophomore and made a business decision. I can't fault him for that.

Great player (when he plays), but he's either fragile as an egg or a horrible leader. Maybe both. A Tiger for life, but not even in the same world as Joe Burrow, CEH, Patrick Peterson, Honey Badger...etc.

Stingley played hard and will always be a Tiger.
Probably looked up to guys like Chase and followed their path.
Certainly would have liked to see him play hard through his career, even on bad teams. He was hurt on and off through the past two seasons though.
But he will always be a Tiger. He contributed to the greatest season in Tiger history.

Ben Simmons could not even get us into the NCAA tournament. Bad comparison.

Stingley who after his freshman year ???

disappointing that we only got one good year out of him, but that was enough. this happens so often with 5 stars. although usually it's because they redshirt one year, spend the next year acclimating and then they have a good third year, and then declare for the draft.

Great player. Got hurt his last year. What's to think?

What are your feelings about Stingley?
I don't like his dad.
Things went downhill when his Dad couldn't accept criticism about his son's on the field play (The UCLA play where Stingley went for the strip instead of a tackle and gave up a long TD). Keep in mind, Stingley up until this point had literally been adored. He had as perfect an image as you possibly could.
Instead of saying something like "game was getting away from the team and we made some mental mistakes", he lashed out at the fans. That's when we got true insight into their real thought process. He made threats of "shutting him down" etc. That's when the fan negativity really ramped up.
It rightfully made people consider whether that split on the 2020 team that everyone assumed wasn't Stingley's fault really was.
My feelings about Stingley are that I wish he would have played more during his time here. He won't be universally loved because of the actions of his father. But, he will be loved. Nothing like Simmons.
Assuming Stingley values his image at LSU, his Dad really fricked him over.

He’s Deion 2.0 low to no physicality but his speed and technique make him a star if he possesses and or develops the mental toughness

Good player. Will be forgotten over time. Guys like peterson, mathieu, claiborne. Their names will live forever

I’m glad we got to witness his freshman campaign where he contributed to the natty
Between injuries and how crazy the past 2 years have been, I wish that we didn’t get to see more of him
I wish him the best in the league

It seems like he checked out the last 2 years. Just 1 nice tackle this year
I choose to not question player injuries. If he was too hurt to play, he was too hurt to play.
He was great for 1 season and had the chance to be an elite DB at LSU in the mold of Peterson and Mathieu, etc. Sucks he wasn't able to play more.
I bear him no ill will and hope he has great success in the future.

Bottom line on the guy is that he seems like a shy, decent, well-parented kid who has off the charts athletic talent. Also seems like his teammates liked him and that he did he walk around with his nose turned up. Can't say the same for Ricks, except for the talent.

Far as I am concerned, NEAUX!! HE quit on his teammates the last 2 years!

Thanks for 2019.
That's about it.
