What gives these cities any authority on race relations or race related politics? Especially over cities like NOLA which is actually a black majority city at 59.5%? Always something that kind of bothered me.

The internalized guilt of racism they feel is being projected onto the rest of the country.

THEY are the ones who see black and minorities as inferior, with out question.

You will be forced to pay for their sins.

No. It's an unincorporated (census designated) area in Jefferson Parish and is not part of New Orleans at all.

Is a city in Jefferson Parish.

Yes, many of them have moved to the Mandeville/Covington area.

They must have at least one token black friend, so they can claim they are not racist because they have a black friend.

Its awesome when you travel out of the south, get lectured on the south being racist, and never see a single black person the whole time you're there.

I’ve mentioned this on here before: we had a couple of collègues in town several years ago for some training. One night we all went out for dinner at Parrans and after a bit we noticed one of the guys looking around a lot. We asked him what was up and he quietly asked us if there was some sort of “meeting or convention” in town and if we maybe were interrupting it at the restaurant. We looked around and everything looked like it always does at a restaurant in Baton Rouge.

After some prodding he admitted that he just wasn’t used to being around that many black people.

This guy was genuinely surprised that us southern whites could be around and work with day-in and day-out a large black population without there being major news worthy issues. If the South was 1/10th as racist as they are and project upon us then we couldn’t function.

Thinking your opinion is superior does not give someone authority. I could give a frick what San Fran and Portland have to say about race relations much less the “authority” they might try to claim.

Is that hard to understand?

I should be asking you the same

An actual body of water separates them. A giant bridge is what connects them.

White liberals in these areas infantilize black people.

This is the best way to put it. They view themselves as the adults and blacks as the children that need to be told what to think, who the boogeyman is, and how they will be provided for

While we don’t need to rehash the racial problems in the South because it’s well documented, but I’d submit that race relations down here are better than other parts of the country. You didn’t see many riots in the Deep South following George Floyd. It’s almost like there is a better understanding of each other.

Unless we do something about this, my children are going to grow up in a jungle, the jungle being a racial jungle with tensions having built so high that it is going to explode at some point.

Those people are actual racists

You are right, but they are focusing their energy on them because they

1). Are trying to prove they are not racist to themselves and others.
2). Deep down don't think blacks are capable and need their help.

Leftist are pathetic and not capable of abstract analysis.

I worked for a couple of months in Boston, the racism is so thick you would need a chain saw to cut it.

take it you've never been to Oakland. The San Francisco Bay Area is 52% white. Asians and Hispanics make up the majority of the minorities.

And LA county is majority Hispanic. With a decreasing white and black population.

News flash black democrats. Even if those Hispanics vote D. They are voting for a Latinx who will have their communities best interest in mind, not yours.

Democrats want mob rule, they don’t want the constitution. You haven’t been paying attention.

That means a place like San Fran can absolutely rule over what smaller city you live in.

Your weak mind. Nowhere else is there any implication that Portland and San Francisco have authority over New Orleans on race relations.

I don't think Portland is even at 5.8 %.
More like half of that, around 3%
